·Offering for sale my vintage Seamaster chronograph, ref. 176.007 MD cal. 1040. Steel case with 20 micron gold plating. Watch is in good vintage condition. I am asking $1,500 USD (was $1,600). --NOW SOLD

Self-winding cal. 1040 was serviced in 2019 and sets, starts, stops, resets, and keeps time as expected. Serial number is 36267XXX which dates it to 1975 or 1976.
Cushion style case is unpolished and in good condition. It retains most of its sharp edges but does show some surface marks, oxidation, scratches and some minor loss of plating along a small corner of the case. Slight dent at 9:00. Original plating is in good condition and 20 micron stamp between the lugs still visible. PLEASE REVIEW PHOTOS. I tried to include closeups of the dent, the missed plating, and the oxidation.
Gold-colored dial (I3) in excellent condition. No peeling lacquer or loss of lume dots.
Hands are original and lume is intact.
Crystal is in very good shape and Omega logo is visible (see closeup photo).
Tachymetre bezel is original and in great shape.
Pushers and crown functioning as they should. One pusher has a chip in the plating - see closeup photo. The plating on the pushers of these is often missing, but mostly present on this example.
Comes on original Omega bracelet reference 1162 with 653 end links and a 10-76 date stamp. Bracelet fits up to 7.5 inch wrist.
Issues
• There are scratches, pitting, oxidation, and dings on the case and caseback and a visible dent from a prior fall at 9:00. PLEASE REVIEW THE CLOSEUP PHOTOS OF THESE FLAWS!

Provenance
I bought the watch from a fellow collector in 2019. I had it serviced in 2019 and it is functioning well now but it is no longer under service warranty. No idea how many prior owners.

Buyer
Buyer must have solid references. I prefer US sales to keep things simple but I will consider international buyers on a case by case basis and only if the buyer accepts full customs declaration and covers extra shipping cost. I require this in the unlikely event of an insurance claim, I don’t want a claim denied on a technicality.
Returns
No returns unless watch is grossly misrepresented. I make no promises as to water-resistance, expose it to water at your own risk.
