Wish we could call dibs, I am watching it.
I dont think there is any rule that says you CANT call dibs. A signal to the group that you will be bidding strong on something lets others know not to needlessly run the price up if they arent dead set on winning it. Obviously that doesnt mean others wont bid against you. But maybe it would be helpful. We all hunt in the same waters. There is enough fish for everyone. I'm happy to back off on a listing so long as it isnt a seashell SMDV 馃槈

An electric blue Jacques Mayol 1999 2554-80 full set popped up in Japan. It is up tomorrow, currently sitting at $600usd. This is the midsize 36mm 300m as Ash wrote about here: https://stories.omegaforums.net/sea...232-80-royal-navy-clearance-diver-ian-thorpe/

I know this is considered neovintage, but its 2025, so Im considering it vintage vintage. If you do not reside in Japan and are unfamilar with yahoo.japan auctions, you will need to use a third party proxy broker like Buyee or 500yenclub to bid on and complete a purchase. I have used both with success.

Quite a cool Seamaster De Ville Kleerback Cal 563 in gold-filled case with display-back going no reserve

https://www.ebay.com/itm/167274480855

14 hours left on those one, still at $400 so far

I believe the crown is correct and original. The stem may be slightly bent. This can be easily fixed by a watchmaker.

The damage to the gold plating on the back is a bit more concerning. Price right now is very fair.

indeed the wear through is not easily fixable, but at least being on the back it鈥檚 not really noticeable, all watches pulled from eBay do need a service and that should rectify the stem

Vintage is normally defined as either 20 or 25 years old, right? And from the very first page, people post other sites. I think ebay is in the thread title due to volume.

The Jacques Mayol Seamaster is very cool. I always love Japanese descriptions. "scratches all over" In the US someone would say near mint. Here is the buyee link. If the price stays low, I might bid. https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/h1171016141?lang=en&rc=yaucc_mod

Well I looked at how to do it, and trying to buy it from Yahoo Japan looks to be a night mare full of risk as some one in the US.
buyee and 500yenclub are both vetted 3rd party proxies I have personnaly used. Its a little convoluted the first time you use it but overall is very easy. You cant bid on yahoo.japan auctions unless you have an account, and you need a Japanese mainland phone number to create an account. Hence third parties. Its a huge market we dont really utilise in this thread. Obviously dont do anything you're uncomfortable with, but I have dozens of transaction through Buyee and 500yenshop for car parts, Japanese market only goods, and watches. All shipped to my home in Cincinnati.

The one caveat with proxies is returns are almost always impossible no matter the reason

Refunds and returns are possible with Buyee. The most important thing is to retain all packaging until you鈥檙e certain that the item checks out. An unboxing video isn鈥檛 a bad idea, either.

FWIW, Buyee refuses VPN connections. Kind of a PITA.

I'll dig my heels in and say anything over 25yrs old is vintage. That means a lot of the 6 digit references ex:2254.50 are starting to hit that age. I know it's depressing to think about. Time comes for us all and neovintage eventually has to go to the retirement home. Just like us.

Do you have experience returning a watch with Buyee? Under the terms and conditions it states "No cancellation and returns" https://buyee.jp/help/yahoo/guide/caution
