Really nice condition Constellation Ultra-Thin Calibre 712 in gold-cap, beautiful dial, very nice case, clean movement. Well worth buying. Reference 167.021

Falls into the same camp. The case is not as sharp as the gold capped one but I'd still prefer this one in SS and also also because it has no lume.

Agreed, steel tends to be my preference over gold cap and I particularly like the non luminous variants just as it’s one less thing to worry about long term and during services. It’s a nice clean example too and for $629 it’s an absolute bargain, they never go that low.

Seamaster DeVille in gold-cap, throw the bracelet away in favor of a strap and replace the crystal when you service it and that’ll come out looking quite decent, keep in mind there is some minor damage to the dial around 11 o’clock and don’t overpay on that basis, should keep the price down as a result though and wouldn’t bother me too much.

Nice looking 18k pie pan full set out of Spain. 4 days to go and currently just under €2k. It’s also listed on Chrono24 for around €/$4k. Be interesting to see what happens if the eBay price is significantly less than the Chrono asking price.

5 hours left on this one in Spain, not perfect by any means and not a Swiss case but still an 18K piepan with gold dial that would be good to wear.

Sold for €2600.. a deal?

Anyone here score it?

what were the issues beyond the Dennison case?

What makes this such a deal? The gold dial? I thought 2300-2600 would be 'standard' for these 168005/168010 models.

It was more of a question than a statement of fact. I am not too familiar with the values on gold watches.

The model is an English facsimile of a 168.004 (168.5004) but produced in the early 70s.
Shackmann rather than Dennison.

it is a very nice full set 18k dress watch for a non- collector.
For a collector, the lugs are soft and have lost their definition but that is about all that is wrong with it.

I would expect a really nice one to fetch nearer £3,000 rather than £2,250, so for a non- collector a good deal IMHO.

One of the main aims of this thread is watches that are on the more affordable and wearable spectrum, so yea in the UK especially where the market prices everything at a premium due to the little tax island situation they have outside of Europe, getting an 18K solid gold cased piepan with a case that has been polished a little at that price is a decent deal and for the money there are very few 18K gold dress watches that can compare. A Rolex 1803 in total junk condition (completely unjustifiably) costs a lot more than this for example.

18K Solid gold Omega Geneve Calibre 601 hand-wound dress watch going off in 4 hours, currently only $494, quite nice condition, non-luminous dial and hands and Swiss case. It’s one’s of those watches you can irritate the hell out of people by calling “a calatrava” but at a discount price 😀

The correct crowns aren’t actual 18k gold for structural reasons but yea a regular wider knurled crown would be correct, not too hard to find for a Geneve or order as a replacement.
