saleroom is just a portal to auction houses that advertise their sale lots through them
As far as I am aware it is entirely safe as you pay the auction houses directly

Agree with @Peemacgee saleroom is safe. However, I go directly to the source and deal with the auction house. Saleroom has extra fees on top of the auction house fees.

In some respects I think ebay is safer, histories of all parties, can speak direct to seller, request better photos, clear return policies etc.

But that watch looks fine to bid on.

Agreed but some auction houses (especially smaller ones) only do on line bidding through the sale room -and some charge anyway - usually 3%
You can click on the auction house website link and check their terms and conditions

Not sure I agree with this
Whilst auction houses often have specific disclaimers about watches and their originality etc
you can ask for a condition report and additional images and at least you know the watch actually exists and you'll get what you pay for
Just remember that estimates are often 'come and get me' adverts and to allow around 25% to the hammer price

I'd question the seller on that one. Seems like a next day air charge.

$100. if that is Canadian it's like $75 US. Still the base charge is good.

Nasty dent on the dial at the 9 o'clock hour marker though...

And the minute markers are touching the edge of the pie pan. Doesn't that and the really glossy finish scream redial?

No movement shot but appears to be a nice decent specimen.

A shame that the gold has worn through on some spots, but nonetheless it's a pretty decent buy. Especially with the buckle, which would be around $50 on its own 😀

This is a pretty rare watch:

It's 18K white gold, case and bracelet. Possibly the dial also.

Not my thing. A bit too blingly for me, so have at it.

This is one where it looks very expensive at first glance, but go find another.

If it wasn't a c case I would have hit buy it now. Still think its fair priced and a rare connie
