it is true it was a very nice pick up. It seems that whomever won it has been looking for a very long time to find a specimen which looks unpolished and worn carefully as the bezel would suggest and with paperwork. If I had unlimited amounts of funds I might bid it up a bit :)

If money were no object and I only wanted the best pieces as part of some museum collection maybe but personally at this point there is no money to be made there.

It's a really great watch for sure but
the bracelet is 5 links short and missing end piece
seller wanted to charge for insurance. that puts
you over 6k idk seems too high.
but maybe the market is heating up even more
than it has. I watched it, wanted it, but my limit
    was 5k

Well, I think I was going for when the movement is made, since I'm stepping back in time over 50 years and can't usually get a receipt showing the sale date.

But, I'm not sure I want to spend $700-$1300 for a decent '62 vintage omega dress watch that isn't my style and that I wouldn't wear. There are some that look like a miniature modern watch or a "mini-AT", with dauphine hands and not stick hands or corroded hands, but it's hard to know what is original with a watch that old. Many of them have a bad re-dial too.

I found a Tissot visa-date with beautiful dial that doesn't look re-done, but the dial and hands look too nice, and the signed crown looks too sharp to be old, and the case back is clearly newer and not nearly as old as the case which is all chewed up to hell. If not for the case I'd buy it.

My son fell in love with a solid 18K yellow gold 34mm Omega dress watch, which appears to be all original and hermetically sealed in a stasis field, which I can get for a bit under $1300. But it would look better on my son's small wrists, or my wife's arm more than mine - anything smaller than my 38mm 20 year old TAG or Pulsar looks too small on me, and 40-42mm is better (45mm is pushing it a bit too far).

I just spent a small fortune on watches in the past 12 months, and so maybe I should just take a break for a while until the right one falls in my lap. I almost bought a 18K solid yellow gold Omega for $300 at the local watch shop last year, that very well could have been from my birth year. The price started at $450 and I worked him down, but at the time my son's did like it as much as a Citizen Dive Watch.

2627 with Cal. 353/355, I think Cal. 353 is more likely. Even though seller listed it as non-working I think it still went for a good price!

I think he meant it was not a 1968 watch. This is a mid 50's watch.
    Ref 2627 I believe
