Damn for a Gold Filled? I must be getting old, that’s a 250 in my book max. Need to start emptying the parts bin on eBay with these prices 😅

They've been going above $500 for a long time at this point, Geneves like the 16x.041, 13x.041, 16x.070 & 13x.070 are still often in that range but even they have been pushing north of $400 for nice clean examples.

The value of non-chronometer Cal 55x and 56x movements alone has been pushing into the $175-250 range even in non-running condition, not overly surprising either as these movements are objectively very good and were a steal for decades.

That’s great (or not so great) news! It used to be “don’t buy gf” for ages. Steel or solid gold, not the Gf,s due to the wear. They were great sources for movements and hands, You still often find steel case backs for sale, and when you look in the back it will say some micron plating reference. But I noticed that (even worn rattie) gold filed watches are indead more popular. Or that the steel are becoming unattainable??

Under 2 days left on this one

For what it’s worth, I messaged the seller for a photo of the movement. It’s a cal. 563, a lower jewel version than the 565 he has listed in his ad. I’m waiting for his response about the discrepancy.

Yea pretty common, I often accidentally call the 563 a 565 in markets where it was common which is why I often try to say Cal 55x or 75x instead now for accuracy

$1125 final bid!
Woah, really? I didn't think it would stay there, it hung out at 1125 for quite a while! Guess I was wrong about 1200 😀
