The Seamaster crown in AJTT is faceted on two edges, Constellation crowns (on the watch in question) are only faceted on one, its not polished, they never had facets on the other edge, they are always smooth. The double faceted crowns are nearly impossible to find, which is why a similar but completely incorrect Constellation crown was substituted.

Plus, the XVI crown has 6 sides compared to the 10 on a Constellation.

Very nice! I have see these with and without the applied logo. Maybe a date produced thing, as with Speedmasters.

I like the look, but these are a bit finicky and fragile for regular wear from what I have read. If I were in the market, I'd give this example a go. YMMV.

Straight Text 861 Speedy with what appears to be a full length 1039 bracelet with 516 endlinks. Bracelet has some stretch but if 5 or 6 of the links are serviceable then you'd have enough to size for occasional wear. A good few hundred dollars overpriced but offers are accepted.

Edit: On second look, the main hands, chrono seconds and minute register hand appear to be originally, with lume that hasn't hardly changed colour. The subsecond and hour register may have been replaced, as they look more pristine.

Wouldn't be a deal breaker for me as I think you wouldn't notice the difference with lume this pale. Also implies it may have been serviced in recent years as the register hands are often fragile and end up being switched.

I hope it went to someone here - it was a nice one. Hopefully we'll see more pictures of it in the future.

Rare to be sure but to describe this as "some wear and some scratches" is a huge understatement.

Had a guy offer me a DON bezel with the whole 90 area scratched off and almost the whole word tachymeter scraped off for $500. Sort of like "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

Won't comment on the watch in particular, but the seller (Dave Holmes) is an upstanding guy. I've bought a couple watch from him.
