Oof, that's a smack upside the chops! Now I don't know what to say except never say never. Unfortunately there's just not enough precedent to say one way or the other as these crystals were popular aftermarket additions. It's something I should add to the 'research needed' list.

The unusually inward placement of the date window on the dial suggests the crystal to be original, as it matches it perfectly.

I agree that it is probably original. In my view, round magnifying lenses were, at times, placed over rectangular date windows. Here's a Breitling example that is almost sure to be original:

Average have been pulling 8k so you could easily say 10k for near NOS/NOS condition. Now is it worth it, another story....
