I was puzzled by @JimInOz ‘s comment about Yvonne Furneaux until I read the Wikipedia article written about her. And also saw her name on the poster for La Dolce Vita. Then I twigged! She played the female lead role in the movie! I saw that movie way back when, but Mastroianni was the only member of the cast I could remember.
I was puzzled by @JimInOz ‘s comment about Yvonne Furneaux
It's just that I looked the actors up on Wiki to see what they looked like now and saw that she passed away exactly a year ago to the day (of your Rebus).

That tells me that @JimInOz knew the answer to the rebus when he made his post. Before @Charlemagne1333 showed the poster with Yvonne Furneaux’s name on it, he knew she was in the movie. I guess I’ll have to make my clues more oblique!
This one might be a bit of a challenge. Google images is no help. Background: A fictitious character by a famous artist. Give me the character’s name, the originator of the character, location of the statue, and how pertinent the character’s name is to the location of the statue.
That’ll be no help at all! Clue. Fictitious Canadian character memorialized by a famed American cartoonist. So that this remains a bit of a challenge, I have obscured the place name.
Google images indicates the above image is either Jackfish Lake, or Yellowknife. Totally wrong! The image is neither of these geological locations. Hint: if you are from Manitoba (Canada), you’ll have no problem with this rebus. If you’re NOT from Manitoba, then I wish you luck!
I sensed Al Capp by your description, but as the character didn't ring any bells with me, I cheated but now knowing the name, I'm none the wiser.
Maybe one of our North American solvers will remember this character from their misspent youth with their noses buried in comics or the Sunday paper funnies.
Al Capp is indeed the famous American cartoonist who idealized the subject image. Well done @JimInOz . This character didn’t appear in any of Capp’s cartoon strips. C’mon the rest of you! I’m not surprised that this one has given you pause for thought. To quote @JimInOz , having your nose “buried in cartoons” during your misspent youth wouldn’t help you with this character because he didn’t appear in the funnies.
The image is a figment of Al Capp’s imagination, and it is based on a science fiction character from a novel. Al Capp donated his time and imagination to invent the character in the image. The name given to the character was the motivation for a location name. Thinking caps on everyone! There is one very important clue buried in my previous clues that may help you nail this one.
Does the name J E Preston Muddock not mean anything to any of you? That is NOT the name of the subject in the rebus. This is the name of an author who wrote a novel. Is there not a detective amidst all of you who follow this thread? If this clue doesn’t do it for you (or someone), just a warning. There will be no more clues!
@Matty01 . Well done. That is the name of the character in the rebus! I’ll have to remember that, when I post a tough rebus like that one, I virtually have to post the answer. The town name Flint Flon came as a result of this character.

Yep, but for the evenly Interspersed trail of crumbs, I’d still be over there, instead of here
I hope our rebus sleuths have more trouble with this one than I had making a rebus out of it. An individual. Who, where, about, and name, please. Picture too, if you like.
