Nice easy one for Father's Day downunder (nothing to do with Father's Day as you will see).

I spy with my little eye, a famous minaret in Casablanca, a stalk of grain (wheat?), binoculars, an ampersand, a ewe, and a goat (kid). Take it from there, someone!

Edit, just another pointer for @Canuck who pointed me in the direction.

I suspect Casablanca is part of the answer, but Casablanca the movie? What do all the other clues mean?

"ear of wheat" = here?

If that's right, then all credit to @Canuck for laying down the pathway.

A joint solve, it seems, for that one.

It appears @JimInOz should take the credit, with @blubarb receiving an honourable mention, and a thumbs up for @Canuck for pointing us in the right direction.

Like most rebusses, now that it has been solved, the clues make sense. But, an “ear” of wheat? Well, that is what Wikipedia calls it. But the term ”ear” would seem to me to apply more to corn than wheat. Good rebus. I was unable to answer it, but I am happy I was able to help. (Pats self on back!)

Unless I’m mistaken, it means the end of a long and impressive devotion to duty.

You are not mistaken! After you name the individual and event, you’ll have earned a ⭐️.
