    That must be the record for the quickest solve, surely?

    i had it solved in less than 15-seconds, but I just got up! Gloating (as I was) at the easy solve, I scrolled down, and found I had been beaten, twice! Drat! You snooze, you lose!

    Seems the only chance I’m ever going to have to beat @JimInOz , is to move to Australia, or totally re-work my Circadian rhythm! Sigh!

    Damn, it's only 23:00 here, do I have to stay awake for another 20 hours to side step @Canuck?

    All yours Doug, I'm off to bed.

    Somebody! Somebody please beat @JimInOz to an answer on this one! Identify the meaning of the clues, identify the significant individual, and name the significant event. The clues do not contain an image of any of the answers.

    I’m struggling with this. Even after several bottles of brain food (real ale)

    IST/I ST/SIT/TIS/IT’S
    Knot/not
    Dominic/Cumberbatch/doctor/Strange

    Might have to wait until @JimInOz has had his breakfast.

    Speaking of which, where are the other supersleuths - new boy @stormysky10 , @blubarb , @Syzygy , @TasMike et al.?

    An ace attempt by @Charlemagne1333 . 2/3 of the rebus almost solved. The nucleus of an answer to the third clue is there, but needs a bit of “interpretation”. It is unusual that @JimInOz hadn’t had a crack at this one. It soon is dormez dormez time in Oz, again. (Hidden clue! Not the dormez part, by the way.)

    The clues in this rebus do not identify an individual! I am looking for the following. This is a 3-part answer.

    First. You need to nail down one thing this individual is famous for. @Charlemagne1333 has almost done that. The answer will lead to the answer to # 2. Work on @Charlemagne1333 ’s third answer, and massage it a bit.

    Second. WHO the individual is. The answer there will lead to:

    Third. A significant event on a significant date.

    I have dropped a couple clues, there. So run with them (if you can identify them). :D

    I think this could be it:

    IST/I ST/SIT/TIS/IT’S --> It's
    Knot/not --> Not
    Dominic/Cumberbatch/doctor/Strange
    --> Unusual

    It's Not Unusual, a hit by Tom Jones whose birthday is June 7, 1940. (Happy Birthday, Mr. Jones!)

    @stormysky10 nailed it!

    What the individual is famous for- IT’S NOT UNUSUAL (song)
    Who the individual is- WELSH SINGER TOM JONES
    The significant event- BORN JUNE 2, 1940

    Right on all counts! The rest of youse guys gonna take this sitting down! @stormysky10 is rapidly becoming a star performer! Well done!

    Do the clues point to a lyric?

    If not, am I barking up the wrong tree?
