Here’s one for you. An actual event in the past. The subject person is not shown in the clues.

Dam! That took no time at all. It was 75 years ago on April 28 that Thor Heyerdahl and crew set sail from Peru, and @Charlemagne1333 aced it. I used Alan Eagleson rather than Bernie Madoff because I thought a solution might it might make a solution a tiny bit more difficult. Guess again. Well done @Charlemagne1333.

I was having trouble working out the ‘Kon’ bit, but having googled Eagleson and his shenanigans it all made sense.

Eagleson was at one point, managing director of the National Hockey League Players Ass’n. He was a lawyer (now disbarred), promoter, and agent for several NHL players. The only person for whose benefit he worked was Alan Eagleson. He was guilty of defrauding the NHLPA and the players he represented. He did time……BIG time for his activities. He was not only a CON man, but also a CONvict! I was hoping he might be a bit of a red herring in the rebus. Not counting on the resourcefulness of one of our ace solvers.

Anyone having one this weekend?

Not in the UK - chance of rain, but I don’t mind getting wet if a Longhorn rib-eye is on the menu.

I’ll take a stab at this.

Rodrigo’s Guitar Concerto de Aranjuez.

Rod Stewart = ROD
Rhea = RI
Two GOS = GOS
Guitar = GUITAR
Alan Eagleson = CON
Chair = CER
Pedal digit = TOE
Sandra Dee = DE
Irish knit sweater = ARAN
Luis Juez (?) = JUEZ

Very impressive @Canuck !
I didn’t think that was particularly easy, so one of Charlemagne’s special prizes is in order.

The last picture is ‘Wes’ Craven. A bit tenuous, but it doesn’t matter, you solved it.
Well done.

An easy one. The subject person is not shown in the clues. A picture would do, but also give a name.

George Washington sworn in as President this day in 1789.

I don't have a photograph of the ceremony, or George.

In the mind of every rebus presenter, the answer to his rebus is simple. From the other side of the window, however, the answer can seem obscure and vague. Until that “light” comes on! As one of our regulars stated at one time, he often finds the solution by starting at the last couple clues, and working sdrawkcab. The Rodrigo one, however, I had to start in the middle, and work both ways. How you do it is not as important as doing it! I thought Australians drank tea!

An easy one, but don't be misled.

Two words, name of something.
