Hence the word TANTALIZE, and who isn’t regularly “tantalized” by the occasional puzzle in this thread? Well done @TasMike .
Holy crap! I watch a video on Japanese Aircraft Carrier submarines, thinking it's all gone quiet here and then I come back and Mike's scored another brilliant try.
First word: Toll + und(er) [minus] er (Emergency Room TV show) That has to be a team Rebus win with a mention to all participants in the dispatches. Special mention to Canuck for getting the ball rolling and @TasMike for giving Benmark a try and then to @JimInOz for identifying Denmark.
Homer's the Odyssey And the win goes to @JimInOz and paid in full even with the missing definite article (had to look that definition up...getting too old to remember that stuff) and the "it's all Greek to me" spelling. I suspect that this is what happens when you are in waters infested with good puzzle solvers and have to get the answer in fast.
Blame autocorrect. Either that, or the fact I hadn't had a morning coffee to get me going. I s'pose it should have actually been Homer's Oddiesy if I had intentionally wanted to misspell it.
Does anyone else on this thread go to bed, and stare at the dark ceiling while running images through their mind and trying to find the first little hint to start the unravelling?
