Here’s one more, before the land of Nod beckons.

Old time silent movie actor, and a character he would often play.

Hmmmm....got the actors name ok (H.C.), but I just can't get the name of the character he often played to fit to the pic clues - Still on it though.

Harry Corbet as Harold Steptoe
Jim Carrey
Contract/deal/sign = signing/ Cheyenne
4 and 4/sum/four plus four and
Mark Hamilton = birth name: Harry Robinson Hammil

Harry Carey as Cheyenne Harry

I still don't feel as if I fully comprehend the working of Cheyenne into the answer though

You have the character name in there.
Jim Carrey
Jim Carey, yes, but what’s the name of the character in the picture?
I think if you get the name of the character played by Carey, everything else might fall into place.

Woohoo!! Brilliant! Well done. How easy it is to get locked into tunnel vision. I just couldn't see out of that. Great work!!

I'll see if I can redeem myself a little later after I've licked my wounds 😁😁👍

Yep I was going to add to the hint by saying "...not really difficult nor that high except for the last part..." or something like that. Anyway, hats off to you, sir!

two - deuce
points/score/ ??

Laurel & Hardy in the Flying Deuces

Movie storyline: Ollie has fallen in love with the innkeeper's daughter in Paris. The only problem - she's very much in love with her husband. To forget her he joins the Foreign Legion with Stan. Bad idea. (IMDB)

A big distraction is the clue and extra brownie points for a bit of the background to this historical event.
