Just came across a debate on 32-38mm watches on men. Seems most people were leaning towards smaller watches. It’s not that big of a deal wear what you like of course I find the arguments kinda funny.

This is a real man!

Invicta seahunter 70mm.

I saw a guy in the airport with an Invicta, not as big as this, but I was totally fascinated by it. I just could not stop staring.

A lot of my watches wear on the smaller side and when I say smaller side, I mean based on the last trend of large watches for the vision impaired.

my largest watch is my autavia which was a gift, coming in at 42mm. A heavy weight in my collection. Coming in second place is my BB41 79230n.

after that it tips at 39 and then falls off a cliff all the way to 32mm.

Smallest

It's really regional too, here in Japan the ladies really tend to wear dainty size watches instead of larger look at me Rolex

Don King probably ended up with Ali's watch while he was fleecing the great man

The very first officially NASA-issued wrist watches for the " Mercury 7 " astronauts were bespoke 24 hours dial & 24 hours movement LeCoultre watches based on the Le Coultre Quartermaster.
Although only worn during training and PR events, the Mercury 7 wore these 34 mm wrist watches from September 1959 and October 1963.

Real men wear watches that require their own pocket and are measured in 1/30."

When it comes to wrist watches, I find myself wearing watches between 29mm and 38mm.

Have a few mates outside of the forum I chat to and they are fixated on 41mm being the perfect size for them…Now they are just starting to realise a 41mm in a no bezel dress watch looks too big for them.
Funny as I have finally got them to head to vintage shops and try on constellations and 😗 the penny has dropped why they see so many vintage watches on instagram….

Damn all the great things Ali did for boxing. However it was with Ali’s encouragement King became a promoter when the two worked together after king got out of prison in 1971, I guess we gotta forgive Ali he had taken a lot of shots to the head.

Prewar Seiko at about 22mm.
yet to get a strap.

That’s wild I look around my local haunts for a true vintage seiko ie not the 60’s and 70’s I tend to collect but just don’t catch any. I’m sure eBay would have them but I’m not big on eBay these days I just poke around locally and a couple other online sites

Edit there are a a couple people here whom I have purchased odd size straps or other leather watch needs. Hint duracari fine leather goods

Never thought of that. I don’t use Instagram I don’t like it but I don’t know why I don’t like it as I’ve never used it. I think it was my anti Facebook phase which is hypocritical of me considering I got the stock.

I have a 44, a 41 and a 36. The 44 is the longest owned and was bought when large watches were very much on trend, personified IMO by the Panerai craze. But I've found 39-41 is the sweet spot for my wrist that I think will be evergreen. Smaller watches seem back on trend now and I like the classic styling of my 36 enough I'd happily wear it even if it fell out of fashion again, but I think that's about as low as I'd go. I've got an 18 cm (7.1") wrist so obviously larger wristed folk may think the same way about the 39-44 range as I do about the 36-41 range, and likewise smaller wrists would go in the other direction.

I had someone call me out recently for referring to 36 as mid size, they argued that 39-40 was mid size, and 36 has been considered small for the last 40 years. That baffled me.

He had to take a lot more too.Tim Wetherspoon found out what Don King was about.
i only give the fella in the pic with Ali and Bundini Brown a pass because he had boxed and knew what it was about.
Boxing promoters on the whole are not very nice

Rocking my Seiko. Might go work on an engine. 😉
I know you're kidding, but when I used to turn wrenches for a living, I found that my propensity for only wearing pocket watches landed itself well to the vocation. I didn't buy my first wrist watch until 2013 when I started teaching.
