Hi there, I am currently completely floored, as I managed to secure my personal grail ... I must have seen all that were on the market in the last year - ebay, c24, watchrecon you name it... and most of those were pretty (ab)used. Those watches - so it seems - were really bought/used by folks who used them as divers ... (as opposed to us office people ;-), there is little doubt about that. Unfortunately that also means that there are very few in nice condition. Extra brownie points for the fact that this watch was prob. sold when I was born (late 60ies) There is so much that I like about that model, its hard to put in words ... the dial is just to die for ... the tritium in plain-vanilla baige, the sexy sword hands and the fact that it has lots of presence, but is surprisingly compact (38mm?) and it sits rather flat and low on the wrist. It is not too much in-your-face, but its there ... I have been trying to get a specific watch (locally) for more than a year ... lots of obstacles in between - plenty of frustrations... shortage of funds, flopped trade, last minute pull-outs, etc... now it looks like some stars lined up here it is finally ... as untouched as I have ever seen one ... I did just scrub her down gently with soap, but even refrained from polishing the plexi ... it is what it is!!! here taped up to keep the harsh nato from polishing up the gold medaillon got it with the original bead-of-rice bracelet, but prefer the nato ... just wanting to share my happiness with a couple of people who might be able to relate to that feeling cheers, Al
X2! Absolutely beautiful (in a rugged sort of way). Enjoy it. And points for your tape solution, keep that medallion nice and sharp.
Thank goodness the bezel isn't faded Kidding, joking, just having fun! But excellent pick up and congrats on the Grail addition. Amazing watch and feeling checking one off. Cheers
