QC issue with my new 3861 Speedy - need advice

This is an odd one… I was admiring my brand new (purchased this past weekend) co-axial Speedy Pro with my readings glasses on this morning and noticed that about 1/4 of the bezel isn’t seated flush with the case.

I’m taking it to my AD tomorrow to have a look at it. I imagine the bezel can be bent to the proper shape, unless the issue is with the case itself.

I’m not sure what sort of resolution I should be looking for, so I’m wondering what others would ask for in a similar situation.

As an aside, I’m certain the bezel was this was out of the box. I took a number of case profile pics to show a friend differences with the new case when I returned home from the AD.

Very disapointing👎
Perhaps you could ask for a new replacement watch.
It's that or bare with them until it comes back from the service centre for a warranty claim.

I assume it's passed a factory pressure test so there's no need to panic about anything.
But certainly act upon it ASAP.

Thanks @Duckie

It’s annoying for sure. From what I understand watches going to Swatch Group Canada are taking forever to come back. Not the best way to start off with a new watch… I would have noticed it sooner, but my eyes aren’t what they used to be 😉

I'm hearing you😉

On the bright side.
They're not opening it up, so all they have to do is press it down until it's fully seated.
A pressure test it again. A quick job.
With a little luck they won't do any damage to the watch whilst it's in their care.
Having said that, with declining eyesight you probably won't see it anyway. Just put that loupe away👍

These 3861’s are not doing good things for Omega’s reputation. My 8 day old Speedy Pro is currently back at the Swatch Group being assessed/repaired as the chronograph (and then the whole watch) stops intermittently after starting it. There’s a whole thread of people with the same or similar problems, and more that I’ve found on Facebook.

Not sure what’s going on at the Omega factory these days, but it’s completely unacceptable that they can significantly increase the rrp on their watches, while seeming allowing their quality control to decline.

It will take 15 seconds to fix. It just needs to be fully pressed on. It’s pressure dit and should snap into place.

All these quality control issues with the 3861 make me think of holding on to my 1861 for awhile longer.

The bezel just needs to be seated fully. Just so you know, the bezel has zero impact with regards to water resistance.

Needs a little push. 😁

I gave it a try… clearly not strong enough 😜

Keep your 1861 while they are still Ironing out problems on the 3861 😗

Didn’t someone mention this weeks back 😁

Maybe I should just stay quiet, but after a few days of stiff winding my 3861 winds smoothly and maintains a +60 power reserve.
It's an excellent timekeeper and I have had no issues whatsoever with any chrono functions 😀

If I had an 1861 I’d have kept it and probably wouldn’t have bought a 3861. I think you’ve got me mistaken for another user 😀

I wasn’t meaning you @tooch i was just saying
“ I told you so to the plethora of people that asked what they should do and why a 1861 was a better buy at the present time “
your post just happened to mention the thread of people on Facebook 😉

Hi, just wanted to share that my recently purchased co-axial Speedmaster Pro also exhibits this condition. There's a very small gap where the bezel does not sit flush, located at the bottom of the watch. I'm glad to hear that there should not be any impact to the water resistance of the watch, and it can be easily corrected.

I plan to bring it to the attention of the AD, but I would rather not lose my watch for potentially several weeks for servicing (I'm also located in Canada). It doesn't affect the usability of the watch, and I can't notice it unless I examine it up close, so I may accept it as part of the "unique character" of my watch and have it dealt with when it's due for regular service. Except for this minor issue, I absolutely love the watch!

Just curious @R3D9 what was the outcome with your Speedy?
