Sorry, Gordon, it's unclear whether my usage is a simple plural or possessive, my apologies!

Congrats to the seller. The hammer price is still a pretty penny for a drawer find 👍

My god some results are so low ! I didn't follow the sale but I suppose there was a problem with bidding...
Lot 11 and 87 were unsold so I contacted the auctioneer and bought them in "after sale".

lot 87 was a steal ! congratulations ! same commission? kind regards. achim

don`t think the market is softening overall. Wall Street has realized, that there is a lot of Hot Air coming from the current Preso. no Substance. at the end of this year there might be aq different landscape rgd. Stocks. that will play in favour of other commodities, like vintage watches. you can actually wear and look smart. condition gets more important. Rolex is the same . there is still a lot of money around and a lot of Money Laundering as well. good for any High Value Auction House . the May auctions in Geneva will tell us more. Phillips has a few early and nice Speedys and Railmasters. lets wait for that. kind regards. achim

im not sure if the seller/owner put a reserve on his 2915-2, knowing a prior price offered by interested collector for possible private sale.

Still no word from the OP
Come on out @Strope. Talk to us. We can tell you been checking the forum.
When you needed advice we were there for you.
Now, we could use some help from you in understanding what transpired at the auction.
Seems only fair.

hmmm i don't know which catalog u have but mine is a poor selection one

13 pieces in total

6 speedys: and the BA 145022 is the only interesting piece, 2915 is without any comment, ultraman the worst i've ever seen, racing dial seems to suffer a complete lume loss .... so nothing for interest there for me

Are you looking at the previous catalogue?

Here’s the current one:

Perhaps the OP, having now achieved his objective and sitting on a substantial pile of cash has decided to bow out. He wasn’t exactly made to feel the love when he knocked back the feeding frenzy of buyer pms. The jilted lover act from one or two (well one in particular) and subsequent classy told you so haven’t given him much reason to stick around.

The way the auction house seems to have acted is a huge eye opener. If those terms and conditions weren’t made plain to me prior to the sale, as a seller I would be tempted to try to unwind the sale via lawyers and try somewhere competent! Or sue for loss of value since they seem to have made it near impossible to buy.

In risk of getting shot at the altar, why do some think the auction prices were soft on the Speedies? Just for interest.

My opinion is that you pay for condition, condition, condition, and you can’t expect prices to raise at the same time the quality of offering is going down.

Something needs to give, and now I think was a healthy dose of realism into pricing, that you can’t get top dollar for mediocre examples. And I don’t believe we should be even expecting anything like it, even if dealers want prices to go up on an even state.

What are your opinions?

Please observe, i’m not talking about the outcome or pricing of the 2915, that in my opinion should have been more actively marketed and not rushed last minute to the auction.
