LA Watch Works (LAWW) down in Pasadena is top notch. They are not cheap but will do no harm to a vintage Speedmaster. Others have local favorites but LAWW is really good at what they do.

Don’t skimp on the service and don’t take it to just some guy your friend with a citizen uses for battery changes. 😀
Thanks for the recommendation! I will pass it along.

A very well preserved Speedmaster, what a wonderful discovery !
Amazing how good Omega matched its modern successor FOIS 2024 in colour of the lume ;

I hope you get to enjoy it in the future, for me it deserves to be worn from time to time.
Maybe if the stars align. I am in no rush though. Would rather have my Dad than a watch. However that is one model I was looking into for my own before I knew about Dad's.

Update:

We took the watch to the Omega Boutique in Thousand Oaks. The service there was incredible! Nothing but accolades for the staff. They were able to help us reattach the bracelet, and gave us a box to protect the watch. For free. Special shout out to the gentleman that advocated for us without being asked to do so. I believe he is here in the forums. Thank you!

As asked, I have more and better pictures. I need to edit the engraved name on a few more pics and will upload them in the next day or so. Those show the markings on the links that connect to the watch body and the backside of the watch.

Yes, please, post sharp pictures. It is not often that we can see a vintage watch in excellent condition.
New pics posted. I have a few more to edit, then will post them.

What a find! Great watch. It looks to me like they have reattached half the bracelet upside down? These should be the underside of the links..

Thank you. The Omega boutique only reattached the end link. That may be some loosening of the links, or gravity (it doesn't fit the pillow perfectly). It was unattached at the case pin on one side for decades and kept in a zip lock bag. As far as I know it was taken once for a cleaning and service, but when my Dad learned the cost, he just went home. Other than that, he says he has never had any work done to it. It wasn't until the last month or so when I posted the original thread that we knew what it was worth, and the history. I didn't even know he had it until then.
