So, I got this old watch and been trying to figure out which case reference it is. Where I live, there isn’t anyone I can take it to for removing the back, so is there a way to tell ? Here is what I found out looking online and from the watch: has a “bumper” movement, ~34mm diameter. I found a pic of one that was very similar (2699SC) but the “Omega” logo was printed on, not applied. Any help would be greatly appreciated - Mike

You have a lovely deluxe dial, there. If you really need to know the reference for some reason, the best way is to open it. If you don't really need to know the reference, then just enjoy your watch.

Thanks! Yes, I do enjoy the watch, whichever reference it is. Still, I wonder . . . : /

Yes, I know, but I’m just a hobbyist and I read something about a “hermetic seal” that might be in there, so, not a good option for me. One of these days, I’ll find someone that I trust to open it, and then I’ll know. In the meantime, I’ll just wear and wonder, lol. By the way, could OT2799 be a possibility?

Bumper movement = 2799 / 2782
Full rotor movement = 2853 / 2852

Shake it and feel

Aha! That looks right! It’s a bumper, so yeah, maybe so for ref 2799. Now, how can I tell if it’s a 352 or a 354 movement without taking the back off . . . Lol
