Is $500 a good price for this constellation piepan?

I am looking to buy my first watch and love the constellation piepans. I know the condition is rough but I don't mind it. I just want to know if I would be over paying at $500. It is listed at $850 and has been serviced. Thanks

I mean you should get away from that watch. Don't buy it. With that money, you can buy a good working watch

$500 is never a good price for a constellation pie pan. There was somebody recently who scored a good one for that amount but that’s like winning the lottery. The chances that you will be sold a lemon is high at that price point. If your budget is 500 look at other models.

Whoever lists it as serviced is not telling the truth. Look at the date wheel. The dial is damaged and far gone. The case is not attractive. If you buy it for any sum, you will realize that you made a mistake fairly soon. If I were you, I would keep looking and would save more for a better watch.

I would not buy it at any price unless I needed the movement for parts. It is a total piece of junk.

The dial is ruined, the case is overpolished, the crown is wrong. There is absolutely nothing to suggest this watch is worth looking twice at, at any price.
$500 is not going to get you a pie pan Connie worth having. You’ll either need to add more money to your kitty or look at Geneves or maybe Seamasters.
