The two pieces bought last year really pushed the buying bar to a nw high so very low expectations of new purchases in 2019
But who knows
The more I read on this forum the more pieces I am rejecting

The plan is to hold on to the pieces that get worn and trade or sell the rest. Get at least one jumbo bumper.

I've been part of this forum for around a year which coincided with my first watch purchase.

Over the last 12 months I've purchased:

Tag heuer monaco
Seamaster deville
Suveran
Seamaster cosmic
Explorer 216570
Tudor black bay
Tudor GMT
Seiko pogue
Speedmaster 3594

And a few others!

This year I'm going to have a think about focusing things more.

I currently wear all of my watches and am on the cusp of having a bit too many to realistically rotate through. I don't want to be a 'collector' (yet!!) so may move some watches on, which aren't getting wrist time.

I really like vintage watches (especially hand wound) but don't really have the breadth of knowledge to prevent being ripped off.

This year on my wish list are:

A vintage Speedie
Sapphire caseback display speedie with tritium
Tin tin speedie
Vintage sub - tudor or rolex
Rolex hulk
Rolex milgauss z blue
IWC Portuguese
Grand seiko snowflake

Will depend what funds allow!

Appreciate there is still not really a coherent theme on any of the above, apart from I think they are all cool !

Primary focus this year is on projects, catching up on servicing, and offloading what I don鈥檛 wear.

My buy list:
Steel Longines Conquest 900* reference
Steel pie pan dog leg Connie
Black dial Seamaster/Connie w/ steel or white gold furniture
Waffle (ideally hobnail) Seamaster/Connie w/ gold furniture

Obviously I鈥檒l find a way to stray from the above list.

If I like it and manage to get one, an Apollo 11 50th. Apart from that, one or more of the following:

- a 101.010 or a comparable 321 chrono, depending on availability and condition
- a Tissot Seastar Seven with a particular dial (for sentimental reasons), which has proven incredibly hard to find
- an orange 2500D PO which a vintage shark mesh is already waiting for

Having built up a fair collection over the last few years, am definitely looking to focus more on the grails. Therefore a year of consolidation and selling off a few of the pieces I never really wear, or indeed bought that I now wonder why I did.

All part of the fun.
Would love:
- Titus Calypsomatic 5913
- Rodania Geometer
- Kelek Seaboard version

Excellent topic @Davidt 馃憤 it鈥檚 important to have resolutions WITH track record and this one will be a good basis for 2020 馃槈

So definitely for 2019 recenter the collection, keep the ones I am wearing very often... so exit all the gold watches (ranchero, 321 chrono, JLC memovox...) and the military watches (I am -actually- too young for this even if I love my DDs) and look for the right SM300 missing, Speedmaster old & Marks, oh and exit also the dress watches as I am wearing no dress anymore 馃槣

It has been really fun to read these posts, so I feel I should try to contribute, even though I doubt I will be very strategic in practice. In principle, I would like to sell a handful of pieces that I wear less often, although this is increasingly difficult since I already sold my less-favorite pieces in 2018. From now on, each sale will cause just a little bit of pain. 馃槻

My ongoing hunt for half-a-dozen or so "grail" pieces will continue ... they are all vintage chronographs or divers - some military-issued. I would like to continue to stray into Japanese territory, as I learn more about vintage Seiko. I will also be happily opportunistic, and buy interesting watches that appeal to me, as well as watches in excellent condition. I'm always learning, and I'm sure there are many fantastic watches out there that I haven't even heard of yet.

My goal for 2019, is to not buy a watch every two weeks and never wear them.

My goal will be to find a nice pie pan Connie,
Some nice Seamasters with bumper mouvement,
and maybe a pre 1970 Speedy.

I will sell all the watches I rarely wear or gift them.
Send my beloved pieces to the Spa.

And increase my knowledge about the history of Omega watches from 1940-1970

Err...........................................................................................................
must I have a plan?
Maybe a gentle turnover of watches underworn?
Maybe tag a blue teak AT whilst passing through airport customs?
I dunno really, no firm plans.

I plan to keep monitoring FS threads from Private Members, especially with so many planning to sell off their watches. 馃榾

I bought several vintage pieces in 2018 (my first dip into non-modern) and so am not sure what I'll get in 2019 (if anything). I do have an interest in the following so may end up with:
- Apollo 11 50th Anniv (if I get lucky enough to get a reservation, and it meets the expectation)
- 80's to modern Speedy: either with beautiful creamy patina or one I can have my modern re-lumed dial installed to
- '77 birth year Speedy: only if I find a dial I love (creamy patina) and great condition
- Farer Lander GMT
- ~'90's to '00's era 16570 ExpII Polar: for the right price and condition (I have a 216570 black dial - gets worn often)
- ~'90's era 16600 SD: my favorite diver and would be worn often
- Zenith El Primero Jumping Seconds Chrono: love the tri-color subdial and red chrono hand

For me I have never really been the biggest planner when it comes to frivolous purchases, so who really knows...
