Did you acquire good stuff this year?

It’s nearly the end of year and time for catching up. Did you pick up a new piece or two to brighten this ugly year? Got something special?

I know it doesn’t really look like it, but I started out the year swearing off new additions.

So much for that New Year’s resolution this year, as you can see. Of course, the real solution to not buying is not shopping.

Anyway, here are mine...

My exploration of early 321 excused these acquisitions.

It was impossible to pass on this 5512, as it was under $15k.

This was like a cute kitten at the pound. I’d like to argue that it followed me home, but you all wouldn’t believe it.

So, what you pick up this grim year?

I've bought around 15 watches but sold most of them to fund new watches. I even bought several watches just because of the bracelets. That way I found two 1171's, which I've used for the speedmaster and the 165.024, and a original omega leather strap with original buckle which I'm using right now for the 2852. I also bought some repairing gear but I have'nt got a clue how to use it. Anyway, top 3 would be a super kontiki, a 168.001 and the top gun (which is the reason I call myself Maverick nowadays).

Very quiet year for me. I picked up five watches (shown below). Three were watches I was hunting for, and two were opportunistic. I sold only one, plus some parts and accessories. I plan to start 2021 by selling a handful of less-worn watches.

Got the Seamaster Aquaterra rubber band grey dial and the Rolex Op 41 Silver dial. Sold like 5 watches mostly to finance this 2. Will start 2021 adding some complimenting watches.

I’ve not been into vintage as long as most, but 2020 was my most active year. All of these were bought to plug gaps in my collection and all are ones I love wearing. Not included here are a Dugena Monza and Seamaster Compressor, both bought for my wife.
