Having purchased a Milgauss Z-Blue in December, my plan for 2019 is to wear what I have and not buy another watch. At least that's the plan 馃槜

My plan is to sell watches I don't wear more than 2-3 times a year.

I plan to get caught up on watch maintenance and make sure all are serviced and maintain a 5-7 year interval.

I don't plan to buy any watches, but you know how that goes.

Been giving this more thought.

I looked more closely at maintenance and it seems like at least one watch is almost always away for service. As of today, there are three watches away for service. So once these three are returned, I will only have two watches that have a service history that is unknown. One is from 2001 (X-33) and I suspect it has never been serviced, as the lugs are so very crisp. The other in from the 80s and the seller who owned it for a few years had no service history. So it should be easy enough to get caught up in 2019.

As far as watches I do not wear....this is mainly about the black dial Speedmasters. I am getting to the point were they all look the same to me, so I no longer need one from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. So 4 of the 5 black dial speedies will go. I will need to figure out which one stays. It will be a tough choice, and I have three top contenders, all for different reasons (Ed White, SW, 3572.50).

Thinning out the herd in early 2019 so I can free up some funds for other projects.
Focus on one watch and hunt it down.
I kind of want to add my first (modern) Rolex to the collection.
But that would require significant funds and restraint to not buy more Omega along the way. That said I just bought a 3590 today ... 馃う

Cheers,

Max

As the saying goes? Plans are there to be changed.

At the moment I have decided to complete some existing projects and to buy no more watches, before I've done that.

Good plan, right? Well, it can be changed if necessary... 馃槈

It feels like it's time for a clear out.

I'm coming to the conclusion that I am an Omega guy... much in the way that I am a VW/Audi guy... so various non-Omega watches will likely be heading out of the door over the next few weeks and months.

At the moment, the chopping block contains:

Oris Diver 65 Movember Edition - the allure was in growing the Mo, and raising the cash for charity... the watch is cool but if I'm honest, not something I would have bought myself.

2 x vintage Seiko - I love the idea of Seiko... and then they sit in the safe.

Nomos Club Campus... potentially... maybe... maybe not... worn it a lot... just can't find a good strap combo...

I quit my job and the plan for 2019 is to travel, cook, and explore some creative projects.

If a nice Longines Conquest ref 9000 shows up and matches the contents of my PayPal account I鈥檒l go for that too.

First goal is to get a few of the gems I managed to unearth in 2018 onto the wrist.

A few are quite special and have bit of a story ... so that would be a second goal ...

As to wishlist ... a gentleman doesn鈥檛 kiss and tell 馃檮

It's really interesting that a lot of us (me included) are saying we plan on having a clear out, consolidating our collections and focusing on what really interests us.

I wonder if this will be the reality or if like any New Years resolution we'll go into it with the best of intentions and then when that minter with box & papers comes up on eBay for a decent price, we'll buy it anyway, even though it fits none of our new criteria?!

I鈥檓 planning on selling my 3510.21, finding a specific year and month 1039 bracelet, limiting purchases of vintage Japanese and, as ever, continuing to hunt for the perfect Fat Lady GMT.

Well I'm going the opposite way to some of you. 馃槦

Sell my 1960's 321,, brown dial,105.012-65 head, keep my Dad's 1970's, 1171/633 bracelet, and buy a later Speedmaster to wear, and enjoy everyday on the old bracelet with out too much worry.馃榾

I'm not saturated yet. Just started the new year and I am already on a Speedmaster Professional. A black Zenith De Luca and a beautiful Omega from the 80s and 90s, I could still need.

But so far I have only 5 good watches, which I wear all regularly.
