Tried on a beautiful Creamsicle Planet Ocean at my AD. Love the watch and thinking about buying it. My question is, has anyone heard of any updates or new PO's for 2022. Although I really like this watch, I would hate to purchase it if a update or new model is right around the corner. Thank in advance.

@vintage38 I am in the same position as you. It is a tough decision but I think I am going to wait till some news comes out which should hopefully be next month.

Watches and Wonders Geneva 2022 starts March 30. Should know by then what brands are announcing new models. Sometimes they drop their watches on their own websites a few days early.

Omega doesn't display at Watches and Wonders. They have their own event (Time To Move) and it is scheduled for March 10th.

Good to know, I'll have to mark the date on my calendar. Is that a live event that that can be seen on the web?
Thanks for the Intel.

Nope all horology websites will post the information after the embargo is lifted at a specific time on that date.

If you live in the US and have Instagram all you need to do is check your Instagram feed when you wake up.

I tried one on at an OB in London this week, I thought it was gonna be too big for my wrist at 44mm but I was surprised at how much I liked it.

It's not like you're buying a notebook or smartphone. A newer model doesn't necessarily mean it's better or that the older is worse and will become obsolete .

My preference is still with the first generation PO and I'm pretty sure that the supposedly upcoming model won't make me change my opinion. So if you like this particular model, go for it.

I'm not to worried about it becoming obsolete. Sometimes watch manufactures add a few more color variations that I might like better. Or with this specfic watch I would prefer a little thinner case, hate to drop $6500 only to find out a thinner case is coming out in a few months. But I'll most likely pull the trigger on this one as It was a 2019 update and don't think it's on Omega list for another change so soon.

Well, with Omega you never know when some flashy and colorful limited edition drops. Isn't it the 60th anniversary of the James Bond franchise? And 10 years since Skyfall premiered? 😗

So much for being logical and waiting until March 10 (Time To Move event).
I put a deposit down on this bad boy and will be picking it up next week. I like it to much to let it go.
Sitting in my AD's case made it a easier decision to buy, as I'm already patiently waiting for a couple of other watches to come in. I figured if this one sells I might be waiting a few months for them to get another one.
With only a 25 year old Submariner in the dive section of the collection, this one should be getting alot of wrist time over the summer.

You absolutely did the right thing. If you like something, get it.
Thanks, I'm really excited about acquiring the Planet Ocean. It's the complete opposite look of my Submariner, but that's probably why I was drawn to it.

A Planet Ocean is supposed to be thick. You don't want a thin Planet Ocean, it wouldn't keep the 600 meters of water pressure out.

16.2 mm is alittle thicker than I would prefer, as it's harder to tuck under a shirt cuff. Your right though if they got it down a couple mm it'd be a Seamaster Diver 300, which I actually tried on and considered. The Diver is a gorgeous watch and it was definitely in the running, but in the end the PO won. I think it was the orange bezel white dial combo that got me, when I was a kid I used to love Creamsicle pops lol.
