I don’t know if mentioned already but Thursday 26th January 2023 is also the NASA Apollo 1 commemoration date. Possible link?
😲 Aaaah
As far as I know, Apollo 1 was lost on January 27 , 1967

January 26 is the memorial date for the 17 astronauts on Apollo 1, Challenger, and Columbia. The Omega video now has graphite before the hair spring. Fratello mentioned 2023 was the 10th of the dark side of the moon. It’s the 20th of the Columbia disaster.

The link of graphite and the dark side is unclear to me. Maybe it’s a dial hint?

My guess: 321. 42 Steel Case. Moonwatch Professional Dial. Sapphire Sandwich. Flat Bracelet.
Heard that rumor on YouTube and mentioned it to the boutique staff. They replied that 321 is harder to make than people realize. Maybe they’re bringing an easier alternative (3201 can sound like 321 so maybe that’s what the YouTube guy heard). The graphite before the hairspring has me scratching my head.

A ceramic Speedy Pro would be hard to resist, but I hope the price doesn't scale with 1/weight. I thought the Aqua Terra ultralight was quite cool, until I saw the $48.6k price tag.
I hope it’s not another two sub register watch like the Speedmaster 57 and chronoscope. Reading the combined chronograph hour & minute without reading glasses is difficult.

(Im)patiently waiting for the release of the 300M Diver GMT line. Any ideas on upcoming milestone dates that Omega would launch new watches this year? W&W at the end of March? Then what significant dates for Omega follow that??

Novelties 2023?

It would be nice if we could finally buy the Novelties 2022 line-up already....still some not come through...

I hope that we will see a bit more affordable Speedmaster moonwatch LE/SE in 2023. The last "affordable" Moonwatch release was the "Apollo 11 50th anniversary" in 2019. So sad Omega stopped the special editions.

Fingers crossed for a <10k Speedy Tuesday this year.

I sparkle this discussion with my suggestion: given the new alloy called O-MEGASTEELE, in 2023 we could see a redesigned Planet Ocean 600m with a slimmer profile, thank to this new alloy.
A re-issue of the original (cal. 2500) LMLE, as slim as the current 300m, or maybe less (!), but with modern calibers and less bold hands and numbers on the dial.
If not a re-issue, maybe a fresh new design for a new Planet Ocean, inspired by the beautiful (but bulky) Ultra Deep.
It should come in O-mega Steel, so less thickness but more depth, a whiter, luxurious shade for case and bracelet, and these crown guards which I personally prefer to the asymmetrical case of the current PO.
I chose the "Summer Blue" edition as a base model for my Photoshop, because I really like it, especially for the dial texture.

Has Omega said how long will they make the summer blue celebratory models? Will they go back to the see through case back after a couple year run or will the engraving be the new way forward? Collectors prefer some transparency on this. I buy dial variants of the moon watch because it’s their one big hit. I already have a 300, 300m, PO, so as nice as the dials are, a model made in the thousands per year isn’t worth collecting. The ploprof and the ultradeep might be the ones that’ll be collected down the line (not models made in large numbers…too big for most).

Omega has never been transparent about how long something stays in production, as far as I know. And now that they dont do numbered LEs anymore, we dont know the total quantity either.

When will we see 165.024 / 166.024 'Big Triangle' re-issue without faux-lume and with all the appropriate similar upgrades in the spirit of the cal 3861 Speedmaster?
