Planet Ocean Ceramic bezel scratching?

This honestly makes me want to stay clear of the matte bezel. I was told my an ex employee of omega the name for the color is Teak grey. It's supposed to look like the aged coloring of a boat...
Great job Omega, how about next time you use a nice gloss and some liquid metal!
I really prefer the matte look, especially on the dial. I thought the blue ceramic was too shiny so I went with a blue Pelagos.

Here ya go....very frustrating IMHO, especially with a high end watch. And I am very careful with my timepieces. There are three scratches in total around the bezel. The one at the 40-ish mark being the worst.

Hi, How did you ended up with your watch?

Likely just surface marks. Try using a pen eraser to start with, and if that doesn't work, either drop by a boutique or get the proper stick for removing the marks.
Hi Archer,
Can you recommend an online store where this tool can be ordered?

sorry for reviving this thread but I saw a video on Youtube and the guy showed a scratch on the matte bezel that showed METAL. He concluded that Omega made the matte ceramic bezel by applying a thin layer of something that is scratch resistant but not proof and if the scratch is deep enough, the ceramic/metal underneath will show through

No idea what that person’s credentials are, but it strikes me as odd if true. As I see it, the benefit of a ceramic bezel insert over an aluminum bezel insert is that the ceramic is scratch-resistant (not to mention its beautiful sheen, though the value of that quality is subjective). The downside is the ceramic insert can crack/shatter.

Why would OMEGA coat a ceramic insert in a scratchable matte material? What is the upside? It sounds like the worst of both worlds - a bezel that is not scratch resistant and can shatter.

Interesting. It's not so much that I want to know what ruins the ceramic surface, but more that I'm surprised. I was under the impression the ceramic bezels are a step up in quality and function for keeping it looking new longer by avoiding daily wear scratching. What's the point if it can still scratch and cost triple to repair...

Hublot ceramic don't scratch easily, but Richard Mille do which is crazy since they are one of the most expensive watch brands in the world!

I've worn my creamsicle pretty heavily for the last year + and haven't had any scratch or scuff issues with the orange ceramic.
