I searched, but could not find if this has been covered. Looking to pick up a 8500 Planet Ocean, black face, white numerals, with rubber band. Looking between new and used, I am having a hard time telling if Omega changed the ceramic bezel color I the last few years. The one I tried on a the AD looked almost gray, but some of the used ones from 2012 and 2013 look more black. Is this just a figment of the photo, or did Omega move from a black to gray bezel in the last few years. I really like the contrast of the gray, thus that would push me to look for a newer one if that was the case. Thanks

The bezel on my 8500 PO is gray. It is a nice contrast.

Yep, the 8500 looks more gray and the face is a deeper black. The older 2500 is a black bezel. The 2500 is also a little bit thinner compared to the 8500.

Thanks, but the 8500 ceramic bezel has always been the same gray color?

Yes. The bezel for the stainless steel 8500 has only ever been gray or orange (tho the orange isn't ceramic). The titanium is available in blue. Seldom seen, there is also a white bezel.
