I’m interested in purchasing the Planet Ocean Ceramic Deep Black 39.5mm but I’m concerned that it might be too small? I wouldn’t say I have a large wrist but the dial on the 40mm just looks noticeably smaller than my 8500 Aqua Terra 38mm. This is my only major concern with this watch is feeling like the dial inside the bezel is on the smaller side.. I know they call this a unisex/womens watch as well but I don't mind that at all as long as this is still an appropriate size for my wrist.

Can anyone let me know if this watch fits too small on my wrist or if I could probably get away with the size? I love everything about this watch, the details, color, and the strap/clasp is wonderfully comfortable.

I'm only 5' 8" and I've tried on the 44mm PO which does look way too big. I haven't been able to find/try any 42mm though. A 42mm 300m did feel slightly large on me though, and the 44mm 300m was definitely too large.

Also, style-wise, is it okay if I wear a lot of black clothes with an all black watch? I would love to be wearing this watch daily but I'm really unsure of style guidelines for an all black watch. I mostly wear jeans, t-shirt, or polo tee, and sometimes hoodies.

I have some photos attached although I do realize the distance between each shot may not be best for comparisons sake, but hope to get some opinions from people that aren't trying to sell me an expensive watch.

    Thanks all!

Dang.. that really does look like a perfect size. What is the lug to lug measurement on the 42mm? Or do you have a reference number for that one?

I think the ceramic 39.5mm looks great, and not at all too small on your wrist.

I wear a Blue 39.5 Planet Ocean daily and it’s the perfect size for my 7inch wrist.
I’m 5ft8 too and it’s a great fit. I previously owned a 37.5 for a brief period and that was too small in diameter and too high on the wrist but the 39.5 is a great size in both dimensions.
I have had a number of 42mm watches and always felt they were just too big for me.
So I’m very happy with the 39.5mm
The deep black looks great on you, so go for it.

I literally just purchased and orange and white Omega Planet Ocean 43.5 mm watch and I have a 7” wrist. It fits amazing. Definitely not to big and very very comfortable. Be prepared image.jpg for lots of people asking to see it. It’s a beautiful watch and very eye catching. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I think the 39.5mm looks great on your wrist!

If the 42mm 300 felt large, there's no question that the Planet Ocean in 42mm would seem even larger (it's a larger watch in dimension, especially in height). But, you could always hold out to try one on wrist as that's the only guaranteed way to render your decision between the 2 sizes.

Regarding your question on style/fashion, I think that the Planet Ocean would be right at home with the attire you're describing; I wouldn't worry one bit here. My thing with fashion is that if you like it, and are confident in it - ROCK IT! You can be a trend setter!

As someone with a ~6.5 inch wrist, I think the 39.5mm PO is the perfect size. I also rock a 38mm 8500 AT, and think those two sizes are about a good a fit as possible for a guy like me with smaller wrists.

The watches in my collection range from 42mm (Speedy Pro & Seamaster 300m) down to 34mm (vintage Seamaster and Constellation). Frankly, the 42m watches are too big for me. Just love the designs too much not to wear them. 38-40mm is the sweet spot for a sports watch in my opinion.

Thank you all for your responses. I also have a 6.5 inch wrist so I think the 40mm should be a good fit for me.

Really appreciate all of your help!
