Well the bezel is a modern service item not contemporary to -74.

Watch could be legit, but that modern service bezel has been aged to resemble the rest of the watch. Personally for me it casts quite a bit of doubt on the rest of the story - so I'd buy it at the same price level as any old roughed-up -74 with a service bezel.

Further, it's a very nice-looking dial and handset but I'd ask for UV light photos to see if it's original tritium, or relumed. Given the cosmetic work the bezel received, I wouldn't put it past the seller to have redone the lume as well.

Looks like a smooth No NASA caseback, but I thought those were from -71's.
Perhaps the inscription was buffed to make room for the hand engraving?

It looks consistently worn and grimy, so I would be OK with it. It is a watch that has seen life, so probably not 100% original from factory (bezel might have been replaced at any point in almost 50 years!), but not prepared or f*cked up either.

I'd say an honest buy, maybe not a museum piece/collector grade, but is this you are after?
