Hi,
I don't think so, dial is OK IMO (despite that I don't know about the "Calendar" question)

IMHO I have not come across cal.504 Connies without "CALENDAR" script.

Hi!
I don't have so much knowledge about this early constellations...

I just wanted to tell that IMO the dial that is actually on the watch is legit itself..
Maybe they took it from another reference watch and so it is wrong on this reference. 😀

Without knowing anything about the reference, the 2nd one down (the 861 chrono) looks interesting - the description is fullsome, the photos look good, and the unwillingness to ship outside of Oz will certainly keep the price in check somewhat. I'd question if the hands are replacements and maybe want to look at the inside of the case back to confirm the model number (as there's also a 1966 version with a 321 movement, see https://omegaforums.net/threads/seamaster-321-1966.43880/) though it seems unlikely the seller would get them confused 😀

One thing to note, though - a watch with -68 on the designation doesn't necessarily mean it was made or delivered in 1968. Take Speedmasters, for example - there was -69, -71, -74, -76 and -78 models; the only way to know for sure is to get an extract from the archives and you'll see -69 Speedys that were delivered up to '71. So, it's possible, if you want a real watch from 1968, that you'd need to look for a late previous gen one (eg the 321 calibre -66 in the above example).

What did you base your opinion on?

A few signs to the contrary:
The letterings under the logo are not centered.
The whole dial is too clean for the watch, with messy green lume to boot.
There's no dial from any non-504 constellation models that would fit on cal 504, unless it's glued to the movement.

Hi,
thank you very much for your comment to my post.

I based my opinion mainly on the quality of the lettering (T-Bars and, I Dot of "Constellation", Boxed A in Automatic)
and a passed MOY test.
To be honest I did not pay attention to the question of centration of Logo and text :-(
As there are only pictures taken with an angle I'm still not 100% shure about that.

I agree that the dial is by far cleaner than you would expect at this age.

I don't no anything about the possiblities of exchanging a dial between 504 and other models.

I would like to thank you again for discussing this with me so I can pay attention to more points in the future.
I'm aware of the fact that I still have to learn a lot 😀
