i did a recent transaction very recently and quite astonished how Paypal suck us really dry, the exchanged rate is really pathetic as they automatically do a currency conversion for the payment to my local currency unlike the past and from there make a pile and also there is a transaction fee. Ended up i had to pay from my own pocket for the more expensive expedite priority shipping of which even the buyer offered to pay, came in as only as a small percentage than my actual cost... oh well....

Perhaps this calculator i just come across may help your future invoicing.

Paypal exchange rates are awful. I wonder if eBay's new system will be better. At least there are more options.

Doesn't Ebay own Paypal though? What would be the motivation for Ebay to steer their users away from Paypal?

Paypal still offers you to use the exchange rate of your card issuer - you can change this in your settings. This will massively help your exchange rates
