Hi everyone,

I would like to get your thoughts and insights on this inherited vintage Omega dress watch.

Here are a few details from the movement and case back:

- Movement: Omega Caliber 600, manual wind, 17 jewels.
- Serial Number: 214XXXXXX (which points to around 1964 production).
- Case Reference: 131.015 (Gold plated).
I have a couple of questions for the community:

1) Crown: The current crown on the watch is plain and does not feature the Omega logo. Is this a non-original replacement from a past service, or were there any specific references/markets during this period that shipped with plain crowns? If it is a replacement, what would be the correct genuine Omega crown part for this reference?
2) Strap Choice: Would you recommend switching the current brown strap to a black leather one? How do you think a black strap fits this gold-plated reference?
3) Buckle: Where would be the best place to source an authentic vintage (or vintage-style) Omega buckle that matches this watch?
4) General Opinion & Dial/Hands: What is your overall impression of the dial, hands, and case condition? Does everything else look authentic and period-correct to you?

Any extra details about this reference or advice on sourcing parts would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yea crown is non original.

Strap is subjective.

Keep an eye on the parts for sale section of this forum for a gold plated 16mm clasp.

In terms of condition, the dial is original but poor to average but this is less important if it has sentimental value. The hands seem correct. Thankfully, although it’s hard to be sure from the photos the case seems in good condition with minimal loss of gold plate. With a service it should be a good little wearer. I personally wouldn’t be too focussed on sourcing a correct crown.
