My daughter recently received her maternal grandmothers Omega wrist watch and it is highly valued by her for sentimental reasons. As the watch came from the estate we don't really have any information regarding it. The watch is not currently running and surprisingly to me, she wants to wear it anyway. She intends to have it fixed if possible at some future time. Any information, comments or opinions woud be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!
(PS thats a Canadian quarter in the picture)

What’s your location in Canada? I just took 2 lady Omega’s for repair at a location and the price for servicing is quite reasonable. Your photo is quite small. If you can carefully pop the back off and post a clear photo of the inside, that will give more information. Lucky girl she is and I love that she wants to wear it even though it’s not working. I hope she keeps it for her lifetime. ♥️

We are in Guelph Ontario - I'll see if I can get better pictures. I'm reluctant to try and take the back off but may make an attempt. I'd be interested in knowing where you had the repairs done.

It is real. But value is gold scrap.

Enjoy the family heirloom. 😀

If you open it you can find the date from the serial number.

Tiny watch. Worth more than scrap value if running. Maybe 10%-20% if in clean condition.

Cost to clean and service is not going to be any cheaper than a man’s model so expect maybe $200-$300 dollars as long as it doesn’t need parts.

Some mall kiosks sell small width straps, but usually one length only. Need custom. Can try any kiosk or store that sell Hirsch straps. They can custom make in various lengths. One on watch is referred as an open end. Kiosk should be able to glue and attach to watch

I’m in Victoria. $175 for each of mine to service for manual wind. I’ll be taking an automatic Omega there as well so it may cost a little more. Very reputable long time repair guy. Other places here start at $300 or more to service a watch. Ladies watches that are valuable as far as being real gold are being melted down which is such a shame. Beautiful pieces gone with just a skeleton left. I hope more people start to see the value of keeping them around ( Omegas especially ) and that more women and men too will collect the women’s vintage Omegas. They’re a work of art. I found 3 and got them for a steal. I’ll never part with them and will leave them to my daughters. I hope your daughter has caught the bug and more young women will look for vintage so that these beauties can tick on. Stop in a repair place and ask them to pop it open for you. Then take a picture. I’m sure they would be more than happy to do that for her.
