Keep them both, sell some of the Wife's shoes. Works for me.

Your wife is Filipino too, isn't she? Their Imelda chromosome makes them the biggest shoe hawks. She probably has a few dozen pairs she doesn't even remember buying anyway so won't miss them.

Sell the Rolex. However, if you sell the speedy, you can do the following: I know some big time collectors, when they sell their pieces, they only do with the term that if the buyer wants to sell it one day, he can only sell it back to him.

When I buy watches here I do the same thing. If I later want to sell, I always check with the previous owner first to see if they want to buy it back.

As someone who is looking to get his first "collectable" watch, a 105.012, I would say keep that! Unless you want to sell it to me ;-) But obviously, find a way to keep both if possible.

As a woman, I'm going to have to root for the wives here. The resale value of worn shoes has nothing in common with the resale value of pre-owned watches. Although one must admit shoes do take up much more space in a closet (as Imelda's established).

Keep the speedy. You cant get it back as easy. Shoot i have been trying to find a trade for a good conditioned 321 speedy and its hard. But a submariner i can find on craigslist ebay any pawn shop. But you cant with your speedy. You will still get a pretty penny for your rolex.

I think you took the right step.

You can find that Rolex easily (or at least, far more easily than the 105.012 CB).
