Hi there folks..I have a dilemna on my hands...I have two absolutely fab watches which both mean the world to me but for financial reasons, cannot keep both...Which one should I part with and why? 2008 Rolex Submariner 16610 LV (50th anniversary) Which I love wearing on Nato and black insert!! Omega Speedmaster ST105.012-66 CB actual reference that went to surface of moon.. My reckoning is that the Rolex will be easier to replace at a later date, the Speedy - Well you just dont find these CB cased Speedys as easier as the Sub..Do you? Please advise!!
If you decide to keep the Rolex, please let me know about the Speedy. I was born in '66, and that year is tougher then many to find a good reference.
Your reasoning about the sub being easier to replace is probably true. However, they are both killer watches. Get a loan to get you through your current challenge, or sell something out of garage or attic, keep the watches. Just my .02.
Hi there..Yes I was born in 1966 too! But although it is a reference 105012-66, the extract from the Omega Archives state it was built in '67 (and delivered to the NAAFI)..
Rate Speedmaster,s are rising you will have to sell a kidney and the Rolex to replace it in a few years.
not a big fan of modern subs so i would keep the speedy. but even if 10/10 people suggest the one or the other do what feels right to you.
You can also say the same about the 50th LV Rolex. Prices have risen steadily over the last few years.
Or you can gamble. Sell the Speedy now when the prices are high/ inflated. Buy it back when the bubble has burst. That might not happen though, so you might regret that decision very much later on. Disregarded a Speedy bubble or not, the choice to let one of them go is quite obvious; sell the Rolex But you needed the money you said....
Keep the Rolex unless you want to sell it to me cheap. I'll put some Compound W on that wart and make it a nice watch. Take advantage of the bubble on Speedsmaster prices while it lasts.
