This is one of my favorite styles - liked the complexity of the movement, dial design (and variety thereof) and the challenge of finding well preserved examples. These are 60 plus year old watches that had porous cases so the vast majority - 90% plus IMO - are in poor to fair condition with aged dials and rusted movements. So I bought whatever very good to excellent examples I could find.

Do these triple calendars "know" how many days are in each month i.e. 28 for Feb and 30 for April etc.?

Full calendar - that is what these are and as noted they assumer every month has 31 days.

Next step up is the Annual calendar - as the name suggests it has to be set once per year at the end of February, but otherwise it distinguishes between months with 31 or 30 days.

Next step is the Perpetual calendar, which knows the full 4 year cycle including leap years.

Cheers, Al

If you read who I'm replying to you'll see that is what I was referring to... 😵‍💫

Can we get a wristshot in this thread? 😀

What are servicing costs on these like? Parts hard to source?

Oops! 😀

Wonderful!....it's both amazing and slightly disappointing at the same time that this complication-rich movement fits into a 35mm case. If only it were like 37mm, it would also be my grail...but I would suspect that prices would skyrocket.

I for one love it when a watch chimes in at less than 37mm, which seems to be about the size that most insecure males go for as a minimum requirement when looking for a watch to impress others with.

There are also 37mm jumbo references of the TDMP. Most often seen in rose gold filled like this 2486 of mine, and I think 2nd top right of @MSNWatch selection is a steel jumbo

Lovely example! I've been on the lookout for a steel jumbo for a while to no avail.

Yes that is a steel jumbo - hard to locate in stainless steel and harder still with a decent dial. This one is the only one I can recall seeing in many years with a decent looking dial. If the early SM300s is bezel, bezel, bezel the TDMP is dial, dial, dial.
