What do you mean with your statement above?

What I mean is there's got to be bigger issues in the world than getting your hands on a watch, especially when you are asked to pay $10,000 up front for something that you haven't even seen, so as I said it's a 1st world problem.

This is such BS...no way you should need to put down a deposit for an Omega LE run of 7000 pieces. And at US$9-10K? Truly LMAO. I think they might be selling the new 3861 movement on these as the "big new thing" together with the Lunar Module patch.

I think many will wait out for the 321 version which will be released later.

It would not surprise me if you could find this 7000 LE run below retail price in the future.

Look at what happened with the pricing on the Speedy 60th Anniversary LE (source Chrono 24)

as I was informed this Edition would come with the 321 movement, it would be the most logical knowing this high price

Believe me, if these price estimates for the 50th moon landing anniversary are real, this price graph (for the 60th anniversary) will stop heading South.

I found this watch at rrp to be over priced for what it was and I passed on the chance to buy one, I'm hoping for more with this new Speedy, but I won't be paying over the odds.

I was the first to say that there would be 6969 pieces, and they have confirmed that in Europe it will cost 9,000 €

Why does it matter who said it first? And for the record, I stated that number 6,969 (with a source) a week before you did.

My post March 16th: https://omegaforums.net/threads/spe...nniversary-thoughts.63195/page-5#post-1187011
You reference that number the first time on March 23rd: https://omegaforums.net/threads/ome...-steel-expectations.91464/page-7#post-1192449
All times you mention that number: https://omegaforums.net/search/10506669/?q=6969&o=date&c[user][0]=37699

And again why does it matter who's "first"? I don't even know who else may have stated that number before me. Do you have any sources on your claims? I'd be more than happy to give the OB contact info via PM for any user that wants to call them directly with the statements they gave me to confirm (no one has yet to ask). What are your sources?

Apparently it matters to YOU, to be first.....

I already said I don't know if I was first (and don't care if I was), but I more importantly wanted to point out/call out his statement that came out of nowhere. Still curious what source he is getting his info from and why he would make a claim like that unprompted.

Agree 100%, I politely declined to place a deposit.

Same here... too many fish in the ocean anyway... and Apollo 13 50th is already around the corner… 😀

Likewise.

Unlike other past LE's (such as the Silver Snoopy Edition), I'm more than confident I can get one brand new. Even from an OB. Simply purely because someone will back out of their deal at the end with this high of a production count.

Agreed, but it's Two-Tone. That instantly reduces the customer base (compared to steel-only).

Just look at how long it took them to sell all 3557 + 557 Speedy 1957 editions. And those were steel. 😀
And those are still available in many places thus not sold out.

The speed 60th anniversary? Which OB please? I believe they are now all sold except a few at some ADs.

Also, at its lowest point, the graph is only USD 2,000 below the maximum. It's not as bad as it looks, even though many people expected the curve to be more like the Silver Snoopy's. Then again, there are half as many Snoopies as there are 60th Speedies, so the higher supply for the latter certainly plays into that.

are you guys really sure that you put up a deposit specifically in written form for a 321 issue? if not, then if a steel 3861 steel is to be released as the 50th anniversary as some said in a matter of days, and not a 321, then you are hooked on to get the 3861 steel.

It's the way of the world these days, some people just have to be first, even if they don't have a clue what they are putting their money down for as long as they are first in line, it's called FOMO.
