The return of your deposit may indicate too few watches will be supplied and the watches that are supplied will go to a pre determined clientele.

“You get a Snoopy! And You get a Snoopy! And You get a Snoopy! Everybody gets a Snoopy!!!!!!!”

Do you guys remember how many people were saying that since this was not a LE and Omega was producing “so many” the Snoopy could be purchased at discount after the first year?
And also “no need to put deposits down”.
And “the demand will decrease”.
And “who want a watch with a dog”?
The Super experts of watches and market.
Laughable.

Take the promises that "you are guaranteed a watch" with a grain of salt. Promises mean nothing, a magic list means nothing, full or partial deposits mean nothing, Omega can decide at any time that they don't want to make anymore. Omega is already trimming the expectations of some hopeful future owners. The only way you know you will get a watch is when it is pushed across the counter into your grubby hands.

Just keep your eyes and ears open, read the tea leaves. Omega may well complete all orders as people hope, or Omega may decide in the future that Swatch business concerns make it untenable to keep making them. That's the beauty of a non-limited edition (to Omega), they are not required to make a set number of pieces.

So have all OBs already done this by now or just the Houston one thus far? My US OB hasn't contacted me about a deposit return and I'm not a VIP customer. Maybe they were supposed to return my deposit but forgot and I have no idea lol.

I think it’s just US OB’s since they’re all Omega owned.

Would you feel uncomfortable ringing your OB contact? In my experience, they’d be pleased to give you the update.

Meanwhile, you might be able to report back with a different OB’s story/rumors/salesmanship.

Is it OB going to call all customer with deposit to come to pick up the snoopy speedmaster to on October 5th 2021 - Snoopy Celebration day? (not AD, this will become de facto OB exclusive watch )

If you believe so, it means Omega is playing with us, providing false promises and engaging in business relationship that is based on misleading a client to believe he/she would be delivered something that the manufacturer from the very beginning has no intention to deliver. Just playing marketing tricks to elevate its image of being scarce.
if they start returning deposits taken from OB, it means Omega saw somewhere being filed a lawsuit.

under that premise, I already told OB take me off from all the waiting lists (321, snoopy and 2998) that i shown interest before, but there's possibility that there is no such a official list to begin with

i do not support that kind of business practices (if that is what they are doing)

not closely related, but that reminds of https://ballotpedia.org/Veterans_Affairs'_secret_waiting_lists

I've been told by my OB that they've returned about half the deposits. Since I was never contacted to refund my deposit, I'm guaranteed a watch. However like cvalue13 said, deliveries have been very slow and it may be several years before I get mine.

And you can celebrate the 55th in style! 👍

that the manufacturer from the very beginning has no intention to deliver

There’s no evidence of this bad intent, is there?

Because a business saying they aspire to make X For everyone that wants X can be genuine but later facts change.

Frankly, anyone who didn’t bear in mind that facts can change was to that extent being a touch over-optimistic.

So an update I am still supposed to get one and was told I'm "delivery window 3" and 2023, but no word on what month then (lol as if it would be accurate). They said since I have a deposit I will be getting one. I asked how many were in front of me and they said they couldn't tell me other than a "decent number" and it's based on purchase history (which I did not get my Omega through this OB so none for them).

I don't think Omega is playing with you, or providing false promises or engaging in dishonest business practices, they started with the idea that they could have an unlimited series and fulfill the request of the customers that wanted one of the watches. But that strategy may have worsened the problem and the situation got way out of hand with a bazillion orders, and we are now talking delivery maybe in 2023 for some people, possibly later. Omega is already cutting some people loose, and encouraging those with deposits to give up the fight. All of this is disruptive to Omega, I don't think they want to be making Snoopys far into the future. Whether Omega makes some really hard decisions down the line to cancel some firm deposits is unknown. Omega can tell you you will get a Snoopy now, but that can always change if Omega feels that cancelling some orders is the best decision for the business.

I the rumors are true that HQ is adjudicating purchase history and allocations, then it may not matter from where you purchased

Here’s hoping!

That may work for recent purchase history, but I doubt an Omega I purchased from the Geneve boutique in 2017, and a Caribbean AD in 2018 were ever reported to some master corporate database. I just never got the impression that that was part of the transaction. Now I think that the Apollo 11 that I purchased from a US boutique, plus an Apollo 8 purchased from their online commerce, plus a few straps and buckles are probably logged in their system. But a lot of people have purchase history dating back ten years or more, and I just don't think Omega knows about these purchases. Does anybody know when this corporate purchase transaction database started and how far back it goes?

I hope the Houston OB has my 2 watch purchases from when they first opened. In the past 2-3 years I've purchased a couple of bracelets, several NATO's, straps, and deployant buckles. That's several $1000 in accessories that might as well be the cost of a new watch.
