ยทThat may work for recent purchase history, but I doubt an Omega I purchased from the Geneve boutique in 2017, and a Caribbean AD in 2018 were ever reported to some master corporate database. I just never got the impression that that was part of the transaction. Now I think that the Apollo 11 that I purchased from a US boutique, plus an Apollo 8 purchased from their online commerce, plus a few straps and buckles are probably logged in their system. But a lot of people have purchase history dating back ten years or more, and I just don't think Omega knows about these purchases. Does anybody know when this corporate purchase transaction database started and how far back it goes?
They are probably doing it like Ferrari. Those really big spenders have been known and regularly spend for many years without needing to log their names. The OB manager is already on a first name basis with them. Then after that it's the "what have you done for me lately" crowd customers where Omega only cares about very recent purchase history and not remote. I turned down the chance for the A11 50th with my OB back in 2019 as I thought then and still do it's an unattractive watch. In hindsight it would have moved me up for sure on the A13 50th but imo I'm not buying something I don't want to just get something possibly later. Ferrari has lost enthusiasts and loyal customers this way by having people buy a bunch of fully spec'd undesirable models like a California to possibly get a limited version of a mid engine V8 car or V12 and it never come through. I'm not playing those games.
