Is it still 'fake' if it's not on an Omega?
Fake on Carrera.

My 2255 on the 1380 shark mesh

Do you still have that one Padders? I thought you sold it. Love the blue dials on these.

You are right, it pays to check. The watch pictured is actually a 2265 (quartz), now moved on, but I kept the mesh bracelet. I still have a 2255 (auto) which is currently on a leather strap.

They can still be ordered through Omega boutiques or anyone with an Omega parts account.
Your local jeweler can buy straps and bracelets from Omega as well. They are not restricted.

I am guessing having an account on the Omega website doesn't count?

I have a 1380-237 and I had the strapcode knockoff at the same time. They were practically identical. I did swap the strapcode out for the seatbelt clasp which felt sturdier than the omega clasp, but it was slightly larger. The links measured damn close to genuine with a pair of verniers. Only difference is the genuine has a little more heft to it. Must be the difference in the grade of stainless used. It was a good alternative if you dont care about name brand and was a fraction of the cost of genuine.

Nope. My local Rolex dealer has no parts accont and they order me straps, bracelet parts, spring bars all the time.

They have looked into becoming authorized service for Omega but apparently there iis a lot of work and expense in doing so. Since they have plenty of watch work already with Rolex, Cartier, and TAG, they haven't bothered.

That's because with SWATCH there are different levels of parts accounts, your dealer must have a level one(straps, bracelets, links etc.) which had the least requirements, go in to level two(minimum for watch crystals etc.) and above and it's a different kettle of fish.

So my watchmaker verifies. I was unaware of this so I regret passing on bad information.

This looks like the "after-market" mesh I bought before I discovered this forum topic. I put the Strapcode "Wetsuit Ratchet Buckle Button Control diver extension clasp" on this mesh and I love it! Quality is much better than expected and the ease of adjustability while on the wrist is "priceless".
It is a Large clasp but works well opposite the size of my GMT Chrono Diver in spite of my small 176mm wrist.

Hi guys,

first post here. The issue is my Seamaster Chrono 2225.80 is a thick and weighty watch (which I like) with a relatively smaller diameter (41.5mm) compared to its almost 17mm thickness. And this makes it a bit top heavy so it moves around on my wrist more than I like.
So I want to buy the heavier proplof clasp for it as a heavier and larger clasp will hold the watch in place more I think. So my first and main question was how this coudl be done.

I emailed Omega asking about putting either an Omega Speedmaster Seamaster Vintage Mesh 20mm 1380-237 or an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Sharkmesh 20mm Bracelet 021ST1962 on the Proplof clasp on my Seamaster Chrono 2225.80. Omega said those mesh bracelets wouldn't fit my watch. But I was sure I had seen someone with them fitted to a 300M Seamaster.

So has anyone on here done that? And do they fit on the Proplof clasp? If not are there any other sharkmesh bracelets that anyone knows that look like the Omega ones in terms of weight/thickness/polish that could be fitted to my watch and the Proplof clasp? Thanks in advance for any and all answers.

Best,

I'm new to this as well. I tried to reply to your post here but it ended up on page 10 so not sure if you saw it. If not, you may want to check it out. It's about my experience with a Strapcode clasp on my large/heavy Seamaster Diver GMT Chrono.
