Nice watch. Would love to see this in a black or blue dial. Has further potential if they would just keep developing it!

Happy to join the gang! I saw this one at a local AD a couple days ago, and was fairly shocked. Pulled the trigger today.

When I first found out about it years ago, my primary Omega dealer could never get his hands on one. I never thought I'd get one, new in the box! Life is funny. 馃榾

If anyone wants one of these, I've heard from a Boutique that there are a couple still in the network. Both center and small seconds models. Call your nearest OB for more info

Congrats!! Funny how that works sometimes huh? I got mine the same way. I tried to get one long after the launch and my OB couldn鈥檛 source one. I found one in an airport DFS store while I was traveling. Someone who traveled a lot ordered it but passed when it arrived. I couldn鈥檛 believe my luck!

I always liked this one but afraid it's going to be too big and chunky. Wish they made it 36mm like the OG ones.

And about 2mm thinner too.

Then again nowadays 38mm is considered small to the majority of the population.

It wears surprisingly small, at least in my humble opinion. Maybe it鈥檚 because the opaline dial really pops out, rendering the case less noticeable. Ymmv.

I do agree it鈥檚 more thick than I鈥檇 have liked, but I got used to it quickly. The dial characteristics and its short lug to lug overpower that aspect to my eye.

Oh wow I thought it would wear big because there is no bezel. Now you got me thinking about getting one. 11.5 isn't terribly thick I guess. Rolex Explorer is about the same thickness. Unless its design makes it appear beefy and thick. What's your wrist size by the way?

I have a 7inch wrist and it鈥檚 pretty dainty on my wrist.

From new, the leather strap is VERY stiff.
So it doesn鈥檛 stick up a bit. I wore it a notch tighter for a couple of weeks to shape it. Still takes a while to soften up.

But overall I love the look, feel and size. Thinner than a PP aquanaut

Is it just me or the second hand on the center second hand version way too long?

I guess this must be compared with dress watches such as the Patek Philippe Calatrava or JLC Master Control? Compared to those the 1948 is very thick.

Silly question. I have the small seconds hand version. When I wind it by hand after not wearing it for a while it is initially very easy to wind but then becomes very difficult. Is this normal?

thanks in advance.
