Silly question. I have the small seconds hand version. When I wind it by hand after not wearing it for a while it is initially very easy to wind but then becomes very difficult. Is this normal?

thanks in advance.
FWIW, I’m having the same experience with mine. I asked the tech at my AD (Tourneau SF) and he claimed normal. Cheers

Omega boutique Birmingham have had a delivery today of both

centre and small seconds of the 1948 if anyone is still after one

it’s a really stunning watch, overlooked I think but has a lot of charm and character

5th Ave has at least one each of the center and small seconds if anyone's looking for these.

I’m over the moon with mine. Just a lovely timepiece. I think too may speculators got in on the waiting lists
Hoping to spin them.

I've just found a central-seconds version -- I gather they're not quite as popular as the small-seconds but it sure is a beautiful piece. Tempted...

I love the watch for what it is (both versions). However I think Oemag are running out too many limited editions. I think it may be more than 25 years before the beauty/rarity of this/these watches is fully valued.
In the meantime just enjoy it on your wrist- sole purpose!

Wearing mine today:

It’s quite difficult to capture the Omega symbol on the crystal!

I realize this is an older thread, but I’m looking for a Omega Seamaster 1948 Limited Edition in unworn/new condition. Anyone have an idea of where I might find one from a trusted source?
What country are you in?

United States

I know of an AD that had one and he seems willing to give a discount from Canada so you get also an exchange rate discount. Message me if interested in the contact info.

I’ll stick with my 1956 model. No numeric indices, but it was quite a bit less expensive than the new version. 😀

Please excuse my Omega historical ignorance, but is 1948 the year this model was first introduced? If so, that's my birth year and would serve quite well as an excuse for more shopping.

Correct, the Seamaster line debuted in 1948.

Been chasing this for a while. Found it in an Omega Boutique.
My grandpa’s 1949 bumper movement that started it all.

And here’s the vintage equivalent of the subsecond version from 1950. Not a co-axial, but it still keeps time within a few seconds per day. 😀

Well, now I feel the need to add mine. One of my favorites.
