Omega Constellation 1333 - How much does would it generally cost to swap movements?

Hi guys,

I have a general question, how much does it cost to swap movements from two watches. I have an Omega constellation 1333 with a case that only attaches to a bracelet that has only been listed once on ebay for more than I payed for the watch. I'm thinking, what if I bought the same watch, same movement, with a case that can take a strap, that is for spares/repairs and just swap the movements.

Would this be a good idea?

Cheers guys

PS- apologies if the solution is obvious, im new to this and have tried searching this.

Share some pics? You might be surprised what you can put a strap on.

Unless it is an integrated bracelet, which I have a feeling the OP's likely is.

Hiya, this is what it looks like now. I made a strap for it, but its deteriorating. Lots of loops to jump through with this one as I had to get a super thin one that would fit within the case and the pin. Then I had to find pin with screws on the end to keep it all in. Now its all just falling apart!

Any suggestions? Ive been offered £100 for this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154443542832?hash=item23f58d7130:g:AhkAAOSwwe5glRI7.
Worth swapping movements?

Cheers for your help guys.

I don't really see much upside to your plan, but you can give it a try if you're very patient and willing to wait for the perfect watch. One problem is that watches with ruined movements aren't always worth restoring, since they often have other damage and/or missing parts. You're potentially looking at a major project without much potential benefit. In your place, I'd sell your watch and put the money towards a better one.

With respect to the specific question, I'm sure your movement needs a service anyway, so I'd guess that your watchmaker will be willing to swap it at no extra cost while doing the service.
