So it's not waves? It's a representation of a representation of waves. Gotcha 馃う

You stated the waves look 'odd', and I state that they look 'accurate for what they're trying to represent'...
Which is not a traditional SMP wave.

But if it pleases you... Ok.. Then its a wave dial... What are you trying to accomplish?

The Rio watch is the first one I would consider buying, best of the bunch from the pictures at least. You have to see them in the flesh to really know if you like them. I like the pattern in the dial and the pop of colour on the bezel. The Rio bullhead looks like 5 year old has been let loose with a bag of Crayola, it is horrendous.

Not mentioned at Basel - but the Omega website has the new De Ville Hour Vision with the 89xx Master Chronometer. Both date and annual calendar.

Spiffy

Good catch. Not my favourite dial rendition of the hour vision (I don麓t like Roman Numerals), but still good to know that Omega are rolling out the new technology across their product range.

My guess would be that he is trying to say it looks odd, which he accomplished. I agree it looks odd yet, as I mentioned, also oddly appealing. My personal style could never pull off the bracelet though.

@Nobel Prize....naughty comment on beautiful Rio. I will resist the provocation馃槈

Greetings from your home town of NY! My wife and I are loving our stay here...took this picture from my hotel room Saturday morning just before heading off to take some pics of the Titanosaurus (American Natural History Museum), to share with our children.

Staying on the Upper East Side reminds me of my previous residence in Kensington/London...park, embassies and museums...although I suppose Upper East Side is actually a combination of Kensington and Bond Street rolled into one, too many shopping temptations nearby!

American in Paris was superb on Saturday...we went to the new Met Breuer yesterday...excellent "Unfinished" special exhibition exploring the "non finito" theme from classical to contemporary art. Could not believe there was snow this morning on the Central Park zoo roof! Tuesday we will be seeing "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" at the Barrymore. Cheers!

Welcome to good old New York! I am all the way down in the East Village. PM what you're doing these days in case I can come up or you down for a coffee. If you're planning on a Soho trip for example I can meet you around.

If you haven't found the Coke GMT yet I'll switch the bezel on mine (currently using the Pepsi) so you can give it a try on the wrist.

A word of advice, being from Brazil and all: leave your missile launcher at the hotel, we like our helicopters to stay in the air.

I'd have loved to do an informal GTG but I am unfortunately flying out for a conference this evening. Enjoy your time here - sounds like you've got quite a full schedule!

I love the deVille line... but don't understand how they can keep calling it the hour vision when it no longer has the display sides...
then again...if they can call a blue panda FOIS a ck2998 tribute....then I guess there's really nothing in a name...maybe that Capulet gal was right...

That's disappointing to learn about the sapphire windows on the side of the case -- that was my favourite feature of this watch because it was such a unique feature, and showcased the historic movement that had design input from George Daniels. I guess with the cal. 2500 gone, there go the history and the windows.

I also found the copy in the item description to be rather sensational sounding, to the point of being cheesy. It used to be more matter-of-fact.

Pedant mode on> While I agree with every point you make above, I can't help but point out the hour vision had an 8500 movement. < pedant mode off....

Thanks so much chaps for the super offer of an informal GTG, but we are really on a tight schedule. Today is a full shopping day with my wife馃榾馃檮. Just got back from American Girl and Lego...about to go out on a second "hunter gatherer" trip...I will try and escape / check out watches on 5th and Madison whilst she entertains herself at Bloomingdales馃槈 Tomorrow we have a helicopter tour over Manhattan + Intrepid Museum + theatre. Leaving on Wednesday (will try and fit in the Kadinsky @ Guggenheim as well)! I feel quite exhausted just writing all of this down. ...next time I am in town I will try to plan ahead and arrange a GTG...Cheers!

I will now definitely hold onto my Orbis Hour Vision with "windows" (certainly one of the unique features of the watch).馃槈

That is because this is too classy to be an Omega 2016 Basel Release.

Ouch - the truth hurts... and I'm an Omega fan.
