Omega 2791 redial or not redial?

Hi everyone

I bought a really nice 2791 few months back and I think the dial is original but I’m been recently informed it’s a redial. I personally think it’s good but I would rather someone with more knowledge then me have a look.

Here are two of the best photos I have of the dial.

Thanks for any input!

Cheers
Chad

That's not a redial. That's an extremely well preserved specimen - "really nice" doesn't cut it 😀

Thanks I thought it was good. But a Facebook group said it’s a redial when a disagreement started on a watch that was listed for sale. Thanks!! Makes me feel a lot better now.

Key points on refs. like these are the seconds subdial; redials rarely get the texture and the bold 15-30-45-60 markers right. Minute markers are all well spaced and the text correct.

If I was being a bit more suspicious, I would suggest the the dial could have been cleaned and relumed at some point. I don't think so, but it is a possibility.

That is a stunning watch and perfect example of well preserved dial. It reminds me a lot of the one I sold here few months ago.

For some reason these dials in particular are among the best quality Omega ever made. Don't know what they did in the coating process but they are made to last. So is the movement, easy to service and bullet proof. My absolute favorite era in Omegas entire history. Congrats and enjoy that beautiful piece.

Well after I informed them it’s original they continued to tell me my watch is “bad condition” then when I was having fun they muted me lol.

I read the argument on facebook about your watch: I was sure about it being original, it's a wonderful example.

Is the “12” offset on OPs dial? Or I am seeing it wrong?
The second “12” of @Kapka seems to more centered.
Is this normal for that model? I don’t know much about these.

An excellent piece and all original in my opinion. Here is another 2791 (4) from 1955. 36 mm.

Think it's just photo angle..

There appears to be a hair on the dial between the 6 and 7!!!

It's on the outside. Should the OP shave his arm? 😁

Yes it’s for sure the outside! Don’t think I will shave though the wife might find that a little strange.

Social networks are full of rude and frustrated people trying to get you down to their level. Never mind, block them and go on 😉

This is where it pays to be into kitchen knives/ knife sharpening as well as watches. Testing sharpness prepares a nice hair-free spot on the wrist.

That's a very impressive dial you found there! I would've thought It's too good to be true at first glance😜

Very true! I left the group then shortly after I was removed from a bunch of groups due to he was a moderator for the others. But it did make me second guess the watch so figured I would let real knowledgeable people tell me if good or not hence my post here.
