I've also got my sights on an Autavia at some point. They've been doing the Heuer branding with heritage pieces for quite a while - even in the 1990s (interesting side point - my Carrera reissue below uses a manual wind variant of the Lemania 1873 base movement as found in the Speedmaster as the 1861). Although they only really started up again in 2012-ish with the Jack Heuer Carrera. I can heartily recommend Omega Forums sister site, Calibre 11 (https://forums.calibre11.com/) for anything Tag or Tag Heuer.

Gorgeous watch! I learn something new on here every day!

The resting second hand a half millimetre to the left or to the right has always (sadly) really irritated me. Omega have nailed it here......and it makes me smile every time I look at it (arguably still sadly)

The Speedmaster actually lists for $7,250 USD.

That was what I had originally, but was asked to add state tax to level the playing field with other jurisdictions that apply country wide taxes such as VAT and GST. The table was about determining the actual price across countries.

At my local OB in Rio my Speedy Tuesday was recently invoiced at US$6.6K (all taxes included and after conversion to local currency).

But when I went to check the omegawatches.com "reveal the price" cost of the Trilogy LEs (again all taxes included and after conversion to local currency)

Railmaster LE is approx. US$7.7K
Speedy 57 LE is quoted at US$8.2K
SM 300 57 LE is quoted at US$7.95K
😲

As a comparative benchmark a Speedy FOIS on the same site is quoted at US$5.4K (pretty close to US retail pricing)

Will check with my local Rio OB...it looks like they are putting in a significant mark-up on the Trilogy editions for Brazil. The markup could be due to some additional "tax" having to deal with local corruption and security t🙄...or they are just being greedy😀

Perhaps in some upcoming business trip to the US / Canada I will find a Railmaster LE either at the Houston or Vancouver OBs...still not 100% sure on the purchase...as there is something else (hush, hush) that has caught my attention.

Hey @Riviera Paradise, what is the tax rate in Brazil and can Internationally buyers get a reimbursement when buying online or if they buy when tourists?

Thank God! You’ve confirmed that I’m not crazy! I knew they told me that when I was still deciding and now, for the life of me, I can’t find the email where the OB spelled out my options! Of course I remembered it as .$7200, but what’s fifty bucks among friends?!?

I produced the table in response to talk about the US having the highest price in the world for this watch. So, the question I have, did anyone actually buy the watch for under the MSRP, which in the case of the US would be US$7250 or less + applicable taxes. In my experience, the US is pretty unique in that it doesn’t include taxes when stating price - most other jurisdictions do.

True about the tax, given that we have 50 different jurisdictions and rates. One of the nice quirks, though, is that some folks can buy from an AD and pay no tax if they have it shipped to another state. This is especially true for OB’s, since there are fewer of them. For people who want to wear it out of the store, though, there’s no VAT refund at the border. Shop in New Hampshire, Wisconsin or Colorado or buddy up with somebody from a rural state!

Congratulations on your acquisition! Now, if you’re flying that out of England, it’ll be even cheaper! Of course, the agony of the process at Heathrow is geometrically proportionate to your savings.

Mike agreed 😀 - my price includes UK vat. if u r flying out of Europe from omega Heathrow - then maybe there is 20% to deduct. The only problem is i found to hard to get anything unusual reserved at the airport. I suspect they won't have the trilogy LE's. I may be wrong.........

I’m thinking that if a foreigner bought it in town, he could ask for a VAT refund at the airport. A UK national leaving on holiday can’t do such a thing, correct?

Man, from my perspective that looks like a can of worms.
Naw! It’s easy! One of the few perks of living in a non-glamorous locale!

As I understand it, some resellers will discount the VAT. Can a UK member confirm that is the case?

Can you confirm your price paid, my invoice shows £5360 as Omega website. I'm still waiting for mine through an AD so I'm very envious!
