·Actually, I was confering with Kyle and had asked Mike about it when Steve was bringing the listing up. Mike isn't on-line right now, and Kyle already liked it. After a quick check of the pics in my Photobucket account it was full steam ahead!

Achim, does your watch's serial number correspond with 1948? That was Omega's 100th anniversay (centennial) so I think that would be the only time they put the caseback engraving on these.

yes, it does. but even the centennial examples did not all have the leaves in the back. most have been rubbed anyway; was very shallow. kind regards. achim

An intact engraving adds at least $300, probably more like $400, to the price. Then factor in pink gold and you've got a $4000+ watch if it's in the same shape as my recent purchase. If it's near NOS like Mike's, it's even more.

·Except I gotta pass on the XVI, Reverso, and Aqua Terra I was considering.
I have to make a correction to the above sentence: I will NOT be passing on the blue dialed 38.5 mm Aqua Terra. 😉 Just can't do it as immediately as I'd like. It will be on my wrist sometime in 2013. How fast depends on several variables though.
