Good afternoon all, First post on here so go easy... I have a Speedie Reduced (I know some people look down on these but its been great for me) and have been looking to expand my Omega collection after some saving for something a bit more formal... Anyway, came across some interesting looking ones on the dangerous world of eBay and wondered if those in the know could give me an honest opinion. I've been reading up a lot and fear this may be classified as a "franken watch"... My concerns are over how excessively good condition the dial looks for its age and the second hand looks to be steel and not in keeping with the rest of the watch. Any redial is a terrible redial... or so I've heard Love the bottle of Châteauneuf du Pape in the background pictures to boost that price

Sorry but I can't help there. Without a case back photo, and with the case being so heavily polished, you'd have to know the 266 series (he calls it a 269!) very well to identify the model. Is that an original black dial? Look carefully at the markers, in particular 9, 11 and 12. Is that black paint climbing up the sides? What does that tell you about when it might have been applied?
They do when they are contractions, which you said this one isn't. Anyway why are you getting all grammar Nazi on a new poster?
'Pro' isn't a contraction, it's an abbreviation. 'Pros' would be the plural of that abbreviation. And I dunno... he said he wanted advice, help etc and I'm in a daft mood and couldn't resist. I'll go away now.

What they all said. I bought a redial when I started out not long ago and thought it was very smart looking-it still is. But I know it’s a redial and that bothers me so I moved it along. The classified’s here are about the safest place to get something legit and genuine. The “bargains” on eBay are never that. And let’s not get into the topic of the Oxford comma which is so horribly violated on this site on a regular basis.

@lostandconfused It would be helpful if you have pictures of the inside of the back of the watch cases to go with the fronts - this should contain the serial number that you can look up to see if you can find the original dial of the watch model to compare these watches to. It should also give you the rough year of production. Watch number two looks to be in very good condition but I’m not sure on it’s age, the lugs on the watch are quite rounded rather than sharp suggesting a heavy polishing so perhaps the watch had a redial but others will have better knowledge than me. (Meaning I personally would avoid watch number 2, but perhaps my judgement is misguided.)
I’m sure you have read here that the black dials were very uncommmon and most that you see are redials done becuase black is popular now. The real ones fetch real money and are highly prized so don’t go bargain hunting, read up on how to spot real ones. One was just for sale here from a fellow memeber and was a bargain at just under $1k.
