It's the hilarious Swiss sense of humour. Compare this with how they have released both Speedy Tuesday models at 3am LA time. Treat them mean, keep them keen!

November 24th 1995 was the UK release date of Goldeneye, thats likely why that date was chosen.

Its likely some type of callback to the 2531.80, so as stated above, the NTTD in blue, with old wave pattern and white lume, which would be amazing, and an immediate buy for me.

no matter what it is, this is the most excited ive been for a new watch release in a while.

The white dots on the box may be the give away for the white lume. This will be a big hit if it's what you describe and they kept Bond branding to a minimum. Even better if it's attainable. Hopefully no 007 logos on the dial.

I really hope they keep it titanium and add a Diver 300m style bracelet to it, or make it and add said bracelet.

I also think it will have a Goldfinger style NATO option.

Before you continue arguing against the US as an important sales market, let's remember that the US alone accounts for about 2/3rds of the sales of all of Europe. So, let's imagine then, that there were a holiday in 2 out of 3 countries in Europe - or for the sake of sales volume let's just say that on this day the UK, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy were all essentially shut down. Stores, restaurants, everything - even more so than Christmas (which is absolutely the case on Thanksgiving Day in the US).
Let's say then that Omega decides to drop a huge release on this day that basically no-one is shopping either in person or online; no-one is even answering the phone at the Boutiques in all of the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy. Wouldn't you find that strange?

I suspect you would

It's highly unlikely that you would be able to walk out of the store with one on the day of its release.

As I see it there are two types of Bond watch.

There are those that are just a normal part of the Seamaster range, fairly widely available to buy at retail, but have no Bond/007-type branding on them. The original blue dial Seamaster is an example of that, as is the NTTD (more or less) and the Seamaster 300 if I recall.

Then there are the Bond special editions that typically have some sort of gimmicky (IMHO) and obvious branding - gun barrel dial, 007 branding, red 50 on the bezel, etc.

Personally I tend to really like the first category, but not the second category. So crossing fingers that this is more like the first than the second, and it’s just a good looking Bond Seamaster but without some cheesy branding. 😀

Given that it's an Omega release, we'll learn about the watch on Thursday and be able to wear it in October 2023. They can't ever have a release and availability for sale in the same month or quarter

Honestly - what is the issue with boutiques being closed on the release day in one geography or the other? I'd assume that each market (country, especially one like the US) is scheduled to receive a given number of pieces. In such a case the only problem would be that people will get enrolled on the lists simply one day later. With no harm. It'll not be that the rest of the world will vacuum all the watches while one country (absolutely substantial in this case) is on vacation. 😕

No, but the order books will fill up for at least the first year of production - maybe two.

LOL. I just hope it's not a limited edition. I don't mind waiting a year or two if need be... 😗

The last special release that Omega did well was the Apollo 11 50th. Revealed in mid-May 2019 and first watches were delivered right around the middle of July 2019 and pretty much all were distributed by the end of the year, no fuss, no muss, 6969 pieces. Contrast that to Snoopy.

Well when you look at the Snoopy 50, EW 321, 2022 Moonshine Gold Speedies, 2022 Aqua Terras, green Seamaster Pro, Deep Seas...

Omega's track record for getting new releases out to the public isn't very good compared to other brands who can normally get stuff out within the same month.

I missed that, entirely!!

Taking the last few comments - a Brosnan style bracelet with White Lume and a Blue Face in the NTTD case configuration....? Would be amazing.

I think they almost have to go to the NTTD case ...BECAUSE ... I doubt they'd want any other branding competing with the currently engraved dial face's design-code-ish effect.

Think it will
Reference Dr No
You think? Other than the OHMSS Aqua Terra (and that one just used the coat of arms so was a tenuous link) can you think of another that has directly referenced a non Omega wearing film ie one before 1994? How well will it sit with stills of Connery wearing a Sub I wonder? I think it will be rather more generic.

It’s going to be big. Just posted by CEO of Omega. Daniel Craig and Naomi Harris will be at the event. A “few surprises” will be announced

I picked up the OHMSS AT - one of the most underrated Bond watches. Subtle and sexy

That's just the white dots of the opening Bond gun barrel sequence. I doubt it has anything to do with the lume color. If the watch does turn out to have white lume, it's more likely a coincidence.
